Sri Mulyati The only face that pops up in my mind is Emma Roberts!

Maddison Aimee kelly

Maddison Miles teller as Miles

message 254: by Esh (new) - rated it 4 stars

Esh Chloe Grace morets or Danielle Campbell (Davina in The Originals) seems good to me

Maddison Danielle sounds good but I question if chole is too sweet.

message 256: by Marisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Marisa Ferreira this is so weird, but there was this girl on ''the voice'' named Juliet Sims and I don't know why I always imagined Alaka to be like her

message 257: by Cerys (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cerys Davies Sydney wrote: "Personally, I dislike Blake Lively. I dunno what it is, a mixture of the duck lips she always makes, and her voice. I just do not like her as Alaska.
But I also agree with Mandi, I couldn't put a f..."

Okay this reply gets an A*

message 258: by Cerys (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cerys Davies I think that Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson all look too innocent for the role of Alaska. It would be best suited to someone who would look the part.
I think I would choose Emma Roberts or Ashley Benson or someone like that

message 259: by Anne (new) - rated it 4 stars

Anne Hagins Idk, I'd still say Sarah Hyland. She's short with curves and she has the bubbly personality, and also the brown hair, bright green eyes, and high cheekbones.

message 260: by Jared (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jared Meredith I would have loved to see willa holland (actor of thea queen from the TV show arrow) I just see it in her

message 261: by Jared (last edited Mar 09, 2014 06:38PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jared Meredith Quick Casting Choices
Pudge : Logan Lerman (Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Percy Jackson)
Alaska : Willa Holland (Arrow, The O.C.)
The Colonel : Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games, Bridge To Terabithia)
Takumi : Booboo Stewart (Twilight, Eww)
Lara Idk tell me one ! :)

Novie Chryss It's always Chloe Moretz for me as Alaska Young.

message 263: by Anne (new) - rated it 4 stars

Anne Hagins Chloe Moretz is really pretty, but I just think she's kind of a dark pretty, whereas Alaska is a bombshell.

message 264: by Isabella_gv (new)

Isabella_gv Kaya Scodelario was made to be this character, i think half of you got it (she´s clearly the most talked name)
Teresa palmer and Emma stone are good as well but too old.(And come on guys, Emma roberts? realy? you can do better)

Bonia amber heard

message 266: by Hannah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hannah i cannot picture anyone but emma watson as ay

message 267: by Alana (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alana Elizabeth wrote: "Elisha Cuthbert"

I agree!

message 268: by Amelia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amelia Alexandra Daddario. She's Annabeth Chase in the Percy Jackson movie.

message 269: by Amelia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amelia Emily Clarke

Divergent I imagined her as Felice Fawn for some reason.

message 271: by Maia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Maia While I was reading this book. I definitely pictured Becky from "What's Eating Gilbert Grape". The description and overall aura of them just seemed to fit together

message 272: by Amelia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amelia I imagined her as Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson

Michelle Emma Watson

Michelle or Alexandra Daddario

Claudia I picture Amber Heard or Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)

message 276: by Hanna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hanna I know that she is supposed to be curvy with mahogany hair, but while I was reading I kept picturing Gabriella Wilde. She has this mystery in her eyes that is described so clearly in the book. "But even in the dark, I could see her eyes--fierce emeralds. She had the kind of eyes that predisposed you to supporting her every endeavor."

message 277: by Sydney (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sydney Loanie wrote: "Perhaps random, and because the idea was already in my head before I even read the book, but some people have dreamcasted Kaya Scodelario as Alaska and I couldn't get the image out while reading it."

perfec.t couldn't agree more.

message 278: by Sydney (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sydney I actually originally picture Elizabeth Gillies, from "Victorious." SHe's very talented- she's been on broadway before. I think she'd be able to capture the enigmatic nature of Alaska and the darker elements that come with her character.

isabel Kaya Scodelario omg

Carwina Joy definitely emma watson

message 281: by Reempi (new) - added it

Reempi Borgohain I didn't really put a face to her character when I read the book. In all honesty, I never do. But since the subject of doing a movie on it has been upheld, my post-read-the-book-state-of-imagination says someone like Amanda Seyfried could be considered for her role. She has a tremendous potential in playing practically ANY kind of role that demands a young disturbed adult that has major issues in her life yet never hesitates to get back up. The role of Alaska asks for an intense girl with a tad loud mouth who talks really fast, can manage to look both edgy and beautiful according to requisite scenarios, can smoke a cigarette and still smell flawless, stir any guy to do what she wants with her puppy-dog eyes (or puppy-bitch smile, for that matter) yet not the kind to cheat on the one she's committed to, to be with an irrestibly nerdy guy like Miles (Aw, Pudge) even though they share the same likes/dislikes and are almost irrevocably meant to be together. Sigh. Seyfried's the girl. I'm okay with any guy who plays Miles just as long as he's nerdy and really skinny. I'm good with the first day first show. :)

YES!"

I so agree with you. I said the exact same thing in my comment too. I don't think Alaska was characterised by John Green more based on her personality than what she's supposed to look like. In most romantic books that involves a girl and a boy, the protagonist usually plots a pretty definitive and deducive image of what the significant other. You know, "her auburn hair, green eyes" and all that. But John Green doesn't want Miles to be that guy. He's more of a, "Oh, she's hot" kinda guy. The only thing we definitely know about her is that she seemed extremely hot to Miles but that was not even close to why he always loved her.

It describes her pretty vividly; emerald eyes, high cheekbones, full lips, long and wavy brown hair, short, and curvy. I could find you quotes, but it might take a while.

message 284: by Hanna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hanna Hannah Murray. She plays Cassie on Skins UK. She has that aura of beauty and damage. It's perfect.

message 285: by Sara (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sara @Hannah: I also imagined Alaska to be a blonde, but I didn't imagine her to be so frail. Although she was described as damaged, she was also described as being confident. I don't see that at all in Hannah Murray. On skins she was really anxious and sort of awkward completely the opposite of how I imagined Alaska.

message 286: by Ana (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ana Popescu I always kinda imagined Alaska as Jennifer Lawrence but with long hair.

message 287: by Nathan (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nathan I don't know how people imagine her with blonde hair >.<
She always had black hair in my mind.

message 288: by Anne (new) - rated it 4 stars

Anne Hagins If only Scarlet Johansen was younger...She would be amazing...

message 289: by [deleted user] (new)

Call me wired but I think it's Miley Cyrus. She is totally inappropriate (Alaska) and she is confident about herself (Alaska).

message 290: by Amelia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amelia I imagine Alexandra Diddario as Alaska Young

message 291: by Madison-Jayne (last edited Apr 17, 2014 05:50PM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Madison-Jayne I imagined Alaska Young to be Blake Lively, she'd be perfect for the role!

Or Emma stone with her blonde hair.

message 292: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't really project other people's faces onto characters when I read, so I'm not sure. I think I just imagined her as she is described, reddish-brown hair, green eyes, maybe a few freckles (but not unattractive ones), and, well, "curvy." She's stunningly gorgeous, but not in a supermodel way. She's just beautiful because of her confidence. I can't think of anyone who looks like that!

message 293: by Paola (new)

Paola DEFINITELY ALEXANDRA DADDARIO AND I REALLY LIKE CHLOE MORTEZ SHE HAS THAT ALASKA VIBE

Cormier I think thought of NO ONE other than Kaya playing Alaska...mostly because of her BRILIANCE in the character Effy in skins...idk when reading the book I felt that Effy and Alaska were alike in soo many ways.
Just that feeling of not caring yet caring so much.
And that feeling of grunge and living day by day.
...but that'sy opinion

message 295: by Anna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Anna Im a nerd wrote: "Call me wired but I think it's Miley Cyrus. She is totally inappropriate (Alaska) and she is confident about herself (Alaska)."

Actually, me too. Wouldn't want MC to play her in a movie though.

message 296: by John-Alan (last edited Apr 28, 2014 02:22PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

John-Alan Not necessarily how I pictured Alaska when I read the book, but I really like this brief adaptation with Mary-Kate Wiles:

Lindsay This is really embarrassing and I shouldn't admit this, but for some reason I pictured Hailey Reinhart from American Idol a few seasons ago lol. Whenever I read a book where the characters are 15 or 16, I always picture them a lot older than what a normal 16 year old should look. It's hard for me to relate otherwise.

Richard Mactough The truth is I imagined her as the girl I hate in my high school.

message 299: by Anne (new) - rated it 4 stars

Anne I never had an actual person in mind, but I always imagined her with dirty blonde/light brown hair and freckles. Also with a slight country accent (since she says "ya'll" on multiple occasions).

Bianca (readerbia on BookTok) No doubt Kaya Scodelario!
