Have you ever wondered who was truly responsible for Voldemort "going bad?" Arguably, there are many possible causes of his later actions. What do you think? Why?

I think Tom was tortured as a boy by the fact that neither of his parents were there to take care of him. No one had taught him right from wrong, and he got mixed up with the wrong sort of people. This led to his devilish tricks that he played on the other children at the orphanage, setting him up to cause mass destruction and universal terror.
Hmm....Well, looking at his uncle and grandfather, being bad was definately in his blo9od, but I also think it had a lot to do with his up bringing.
I think it was a mix of his upbringing and his ancestors who were also bad. neither did much to help him find the right path.
Might i also add that upbringing isnt everything, i mean look at Harry he didnt exactly get the best care living with the Dursleys (sp?) but he still turned out a good kid

yeah, that about sums it up :) i also think it was his upbringing too though. he was always looked down upon as a kid, so when he was older, he wanted to be someone big. he was looked down upon, making Tom mad at them, so he played tricks on them to show he was something, but scaring people at the same time. he wasn't really taught otherwise, and by the time dumbldore got there, it was too late. Tom found out about horcruxes, leading him almmost immortal, and to make a horcrux, you have to kill people so maybe it became like a "second nature" to him.
