I'm not sure why he is promoting since from what I can tell the book has no distribution system. He is a Publish America author and it isn't even on Amazon - well except for one used for $69.61 a bit pricey for a 163 page paperback.

Christine has two reviews giving 5 stars to Gene's book. It's probably his wife or publisher trying to push his stupid book.

I've got to complain to Amazon. $24 for a new copy but $69 for a used one doesn't quite make sense, does it?I wouldn't take the kids who post here very seriously, or personally. I suspect they don't actually read books. Anyway,when the new price is $24, that generally means the store sells it for $19.

I have what, almost 1000 books in my lists on GR, how many books does Christine have? Oh wait, only yours. How many books do you have? Oh wait, only yours. Get your spam off our board since honestly, YOU can't read the rules about promoting your stuff.
By the way, you are turning off 2900+ potential customers by blatantly not following the rules of the group, insulting the super-mod, and insulting group members.

I would hope you are not refering to us sir. We certainly are not children. I am an English literature major and have read sixteen novels... not little books... four hundred page honkers... since January. Please watch what you say in the future.

Gene, if you think we don't read, then why would you try to promote a book here? Or perhaps it is a picture book?

Well, I had expected a more mature discourse, not a lot of adolescent flaming. I might have walked into a rock and roll dance and tried to talk to somebody with a better response.
Anyway, though you haven't seen the cover, you've seen the title, so that should be all you need to make a judgment.
Well, you would have known what to expect if you took the time to read the rules.What is a rock and roll dance? Do you mean a bar? Just because people are young doesn't mean they are unintelligent. Furthermore, because I don't go to a square dance or whatever it is you elderly folk do does not mean I can't partake in discourse.
In order to pass judgement on a book, I judge the author. I ask myself, "Has the author written anything I've already read and enjoyed?" "Does the premise sound like something I would enjoy?"
Also I opened the first 20 pages on that geocities site, I guess since you seem to be elderly, you don't understand newfangled technology and all, but Microsoft Word has this amazing invention called spell-check and grammar editior. Basically when your grammar is incorrect, it underlines the grammar with a green squiggly line and tells you how to correct the problem.
Also, PublishAmerica is a vanity press, meaning, you got scammed. Kevin Yarbrough, wrote 30 pages, then copied those same 30 pages over and over until it was book-length, sent it in, and it was happily approved. Then the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America pulled a super stunt: They got together to write the worst book in existence (boy, did they ever) under the name Travis Tea, and it, too, was happily accepted and received much media attention-- see http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire2005/i.... and http://www.lisamaliga.com/AtlantaNig.....
In reality, PublishAmerica does not read the submissions they receive and will happily publish anything sent their way if they believe an author will shell out money to pay for copies of the book, or will supply addresses of friends and family who they can solicit to buy the book. Good or bad, it does not matter.
