I will be more than happy to swap reads. I review in a ceative way and will comment from the intellectual and the emotional perspective. If I can think of nothing positive to say I will say nothing. This might not be a balanced approach, but at least it won't cause offence or hurt.
I regard reviewing as important as writing because we learn from reading other writers and we learn from weighing their work.
As for my own stuff. I wld like any comments of any kind on Watching Swifts a contemporary novella set in London's Kew Gardens one swift summer.
If this post produces a mutually useful exchange of reads I am likely to do more.
I've had a look at several threads on this creative group and this thread seems the most promising.

its an autobiography from my future self, following the events that concluded in my owning of the world

The Days Of Kelsea's

http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/2...
Demi Costello is heartbroken, frustrated and scared. She is living in a world of grief and horror.
Kelsea Richardson was her best friend. And three weeks ago, she went missing, leaving no trace or information.
Then Demi finds her diary. Of course the police want any evidence they can find, or anyone can find, but that diary is full of Kelsea's life, her hopes, her dreams, her hardships, and secrets.
Demi can't hand it in. Yet. She has to find out what happened first, before anyone else does.
In this story, we take a journey through two best friends' lives, written in two different formats - Kelsea's heart warming, breath taking diary enteries, filled with love, tenderness and sorrow. And Demi's flashbacks, and memories, of her time spent with her best friend.
And every step along the way, the reasons why become clearer . . .

If you're still up for doing a R4R, I'd be interested! We could maybe just swap books and set a time limit on when we both have to leave a review for it? Let me know if you might want to do that. :) It's easier if you private message me.

Sequel to my fanfiction, Lover Possessed. A stranger, yet oddly familiar, woman has entered Blay's life in Qhuinn's absense, and he can't help but be intrigued. Who is she? Where did she come from? And as a gay man, he shouldn't feel attracted to her...
She has no name since she remembers nothing before stumbling into the streets of Caldwell, NY a few short weeks ago. But she is inexplicably drawn to the youngest warrior, Blay, for he has haunted her dreams for as long as she can remember.

Here's a short description:
Deligance Maple, age 17, realizes it's now time for the Career Attachment Ceremony in her underground city, The Underling. The Underling was created by corrupt government officials whose intention is to keep the citizens locked away, controlled, and kept under 24 hour surveillance to insure there will be no escapes. Deli walks around like one of their puppets but soon realizes she’s different than the rest. She experiences dreams of forests and different environments that are supposedly found in the Above Ground…although she’s never been there. Deli learns secrets her parents kept locked away, all while trying to survive the suicidal career she gets chosen for.

This is my first chapter of my new book - all comments are gratefully received:

Here's the summary:
For many years the Night Raiders have been terrorizing the village people of Pine View. Ransacking the markets, setting fire to houses, and destroying public property was just the beginning. That was until Peacekeeper stopped the Night Raiders from destroying all three villages completely. But now the villages lack a Peacekeeper and the Night Raiders are at it once again.
Sixteen year old, Avalon, has been called upon to help restore order and balance to the three villages, only she doesn't know it yet. Her once proactive grandmother recently passed away; leaving a necklace with a clear crystal strung into it. Avalon's grandmother had told her numerous stories of her childhood; stories that people would consider as fairy tales. Avalon made a promise that would protect the crystal and not let anyone get ahold of it.
One fateful day, while in a forest taking photos for a school project with a classmate, Avalon's necklace begins to glow. In a matter of seconds everything changed, her grandmother's fairy tale stories were no longer thought of as hallucinations.
Now, Avalon has been dragged into a civil war between the villages and the Night Raiders. The creatures in the forest refer to Avalon as the 'Peacekeeper'; the savior of the forest. Avalon doesn't even know what it means or what kind of problems she will face in the future.

I've noticed in a lot of groups that people post their writing, expecting it to be looked at. But not many people, or sometimes no one, look at it.
That's because everyone is selfish.
Right? Everyone! I am, you are... When you think about It deeply. You want your writing to be discovered, more than anyone else. It's only natural! You can't blame people.
Well have you ever thought that everyone else feels that way too? Everyone is just like you.
So I've decided that there is a good way, or a few good ways, to make everyone get their writing known a teeny bit more.

We will hold Read4Reads. In this discussion, you post your story with its description, and state what you want (comments on one chapter? Three chapters? Four? Etc.) Then someone else comes along with their story and description and their wish for it.
For example, "Hey Bob, if you read a chapter of mine and give an honest comment, I will do the same for you."
O.kay? So the person who arrived in the discussion second will go to the person's story who arrived first. Once the person that owns that story has seen that that person has dropped an honest comment there, they will thank them and head to their story, and do the same. You can also 'like' each others stories if you enjoyed them.
That way, everyone will get more reads as time goes on.
Please note:
Comments such as "It was good." have the right to be ignored by the author, and that person has the right to ignore the other person's request for them to view their story. This is because short comments are not helpful, praising or proving that the person has actually read the story. If you can't help someone else properly, then they won't do the same for you.
Abuse will be reported to me and then I will report it to goodreads and the abuser will be blocked from the group.
Comments may only be written on the chapter of the story you have been requested to read. Do not write them on the discussion thread or they will be deleted. It also makes the author think you have not read their story really.
Likes without comments should be ignored.
(All this applies to only people who have applied for the Read4Read thing with your story. Everyone else has the right to do what they want.)
