Hi everyone- so I just finished reading Tarantula and overall I guess I was left wanting more. Call me disturbed as I didn't find the book as disturbing as I had intended to... I did see the skin I live in prior to reading so that may have yielded a biased result. But overall I guess I needed more. I felt a lot of the narrative was rushed and disjointed at points, many times I was forced to back and re-read just to make sure I didn't skip over plot developments.

I also feel a bit slighted by way of character feeling, and internalization. I feel like the novel just scrapes at the surface of everyone's feelings. We get Richard's reaction to Viviane and her rape, I mean that is the premise for the novel, enacting revenge on Vincent but it could have been taken so much further. I found the character Alex to be rushed and an interesting twist'ish but awkward at times. By the end it is somewhat clear that Eve intends to stay with Richard, noting they can't leave Alex's body, but again I would have liked more of a development as to how she got to that. She goes upstairs, looks at the transvestite painting and feels sorry and wants to stay? I dunno... There were definitely periods of anger, adoration, stolkholm, but the relationship and confusion could have been pushed further...

Basically at this point I am being redundant lol- but yea. I wanted more..
