Yeah, I pretty much despise Twilight AND SM

I am a fan of vampire books and movies, and I also enjoy YA books, so I was fully prepared to love Twilight. Yeah, well, I was so wrong. Twilight is one of the worst books I have ever read. I could go on and on about the myriad of reasons why it SUCKS but others in this group have done a good job of outlining the main reasons. And my review of the book here on goodreads should give some additional insight. Needless to say, I hate Twilight and I want to punch SM in the face for writing such a pathetic female character. Bella Swan is a horrible role model for young girls. Edward is a psycho stalker. Both have zero personality or appeal. I don't get the love for this series.
So far, I've only read Twilight and New Moon. New Moon is better, imo. But still, I think the characters and the "love" story are horrific models for normal human behavior and healthy relationships and it makes me sad that so many young girls are in love with a fictional vampire, a fictional a--hole vampire, who stalks Bella and acts in abusive, controlling ways. I also think the editors at Little, Brown should be ashamed and embarrassed for letting such purple prose, horrific writing get published. You really couldn't have had SM do some re-writing? Get rid of some of the repetitive language, minimize the adjectives? Seriously, the editors suck as much as SM does.
