Bared to You

What do you think the sequel will entail?
I think Eva is going to be the one to kick Nathan's ass hence her taking Krav Maga classes. I take it too. It's a self defence system with mixed martial arts elements, so she'll definitely be able to hurt anyone that tries to hurt her.
I hope Cary gets it together. Eva needs him.
As for Gideon, I can't work out who the abuser is. There seem to be quite a lot of characters around the same age, so I'm wondering whether it was some kind of sexually motivated bullying, perhaps by Christopher and Dr Terry?? But then, would that alone really be impacting on Gideon now? Wouldn't he have just destroyed them both with his multi-million empire of power??
Looking forward to book 2 though, but not anticipating that we'll learn everything about Gideon's past until book 3!

I think he was referring to himself, I think he was draped by someone older, after his father died.
That's how I read that part.

maybe because somebody forced him to have sex?
There are some awesome suggestions on here. I think that Gideons mum knows about the abuse, and maybe turned the other way or she is Dominant and with her husband have some kind of thing with to do with boys! I don't believe that Ireland is being abused. Also the Mum maybe directing feeling on Gideon because of what his Father may have done in their marraige before committing suicide!
Also what is it with his Mum asking if Eva was a natural Blond????
I also think that Christopher was given a role in the abuse, despite being younger than Gideon, i think he was able to gain power over him!
Lots of unanswered questions there.
I do think that maybe Christopher has something up his sleeve with Maggie and Corrine and everyones points on here are true to what i believe, theres definitly more in this story!
I am also curious as to what Gideon forgot in her apartment.
The tension with Terry is also intriguing, there is definitly history there! But it wasn't mentioned what kind of Doctor he was! With Eva's experience with therapist's, i think she would sense if he was one!?!
I hope that Cary will over come his problems and is able to help Eva and vice versa.
I feel that Daniel will make an unexpected appearance too, Though i hope that Eva's Krav Maga training comes into it's own, even if it's not directed at Daniel! It would be interesting to see her kick some butt, either saving Gideon or saving herself!
I am soooo looking forward to reading the next book, i have pre-ordered it on Kindle just so i get it earlier. Has anyone read the snippet of Reflected in you on Sylvia Days FB page?
Also the interview on girly obsession was brill and explains alot about how she came to write the book! http://www.girlyobsessions.com/2012/0...
Can't wait, roll on October!

Wow, Paris never thought of it that way. I just assumed it was the fraud that made him kill himself.ETA:
I do have to wonder what's with all the hate between Gideon and the Dr. at the dinner gala, they must have a history to be so hostile towards each other
i finished "bared to you" today and am so looking forward to the next book.i think we will have more insight to Gideon's past.i think Corinne will be a major obstacle.
Margo wrote: "Most... so what do you think differently then me???"Yea, I agree that was strange. And what was the significance of 2 large poodles and their owner when he came back downstairs? Just thought it was odd...why didn't the write just say he reappeared. Seemed a little out of character for the writer to add insignification details. imho
I have a strange feeling about Gideon's mother. Just weird cant shake it off that she knows what happened to Gideon. I cant see if she was the abuser. Does anyone think she might be a dominant in bdsm? I feel for Ireland. I think she was trying to see if she could trust Eva. I think something is happening or happened to her and I think she needs Gideon. I keep wandering who Terry is to Gideon? What the hell is up with Christopher? Whats going to happen to Nathen? What did Gideon forget in the apartment? Wish there was more about Gideons dad, Im sure theres more then what was said about him or what Gideons been told. Whats up with the ex? Felt like shes going to try and get her claws into Gideon. What happened to Gideon in his past? It sounds like sexual abuse when he said consensual “So…did you have a sex pad for the rare occasions some lucky bitch got you in bed?”
“I’ve always used the hotel.”
“That’s the only place you’ve had sex? Before me?”
“The only place I’ve had consensual sex,” he said quietly, “before you.”
Cant wait for October!!!

quite possibly Gideon's mother lent him out to dominants.he seemed to know a bit about the dom/sub relationship.
Yes quite possible, very interesting. I am more desperate for October to come now lol. I come to think it was man who abused him. When he says(when he trys to rape Eva in their sleep) 'You’re going to know what it feels like.' made me think it was a woman that abused him and then when he says 'You sick bastard' makes it sound like a man, but then after he says that, he says 'Don’t. Ah, Christ…It hurts' + he doesn t do anal makes me believe its a man who abused him but I cant see it being his stepfather that was the abuser.
T wrote: "Yes quite possible, very interesting. I am more desperate for October to come now lol. I come to think it was man who abused him. Because he compared himself to him in the bath with Eva;
Though i wonder if we find out in Oct or Dec in book 3?
God hope we dont have to wait til Dec, Oct is far enough as it is lol
I think though reflected might be Gideons story because Eva bared to him and entwined will be their happy ever after well hoping lol thats just my thought

Day did a poll asking fans from what scene in the book would we like to see from Gideon's point of view? The that won was the "Corrine Dinner " where. Eva only saw the back of Gideon head.
I hope its in Reflected In You.
Eva had good reason to feel neglected.very rude of Gideon to ignore her at the dinner and have his attention all on Corinne.Would be interesting to see what Gideon was discussing with her though
Katrina wrote: "Eva had good reason to feel neglected.very rude of Gideon to ignore her at the dinner and have his attention all on Corinne.Would be interesting to see what Gideon was discussing with her though"Yea. I kept trying to figure out why he would act that way with her. It was like he was having his cake and eating it too. (by paying attention to Corinne and make Eva stay by not letting her go).
Don't forget he was holding Eva's hand while ignoring her. I not sure why he would do this knowing she already have a problem with Maggie, and Gideon didn't even date her.Oct seems so far away.
I dont see why he did that must of been a really important conversation that he had to ignore Eva the way he did unless it was the ex, maybe she knows how Eva gets jealous and wanted her to act out or something. cant understand why he would do that. Hope its in the next book.
i'm really obsessed.i've just spent all morning skim reading through the book...again lol.Gideon did have a tight grip on Eva.Possibly he was trying to show her that he is the dominant and no matter where his attention is,she is always in his thoughts.
Ooh I now think Gideon's father was the abuser and Gideon's mum killed him, that's why their relationship is so strained. Maybe Gideon can't forgive her. Also, would explain a little about why he still has money, despite his dad supposedly being guilty of fraud, could be a cover story. Also, this could explain why Christopher is such a a-hole. Gideon would always have gotten more attention as a child and also automatically rich!
omg this just came into my mind i dont think this is gonna be in the sequel but when gideon was about to rape eve when he has those nightmares what if he did to it but to hes ex but he didnt say anything cause she love him and he doesnt even no... idk just a thought
one thing that struck me is how Gideon brought up times he has had "consensual sex" what if he has forced himself on women? I don't think that is th direction the story is going but would be an interesting spin on things.Maybe whatever has happened to him in the past has seriously messed him up
That's really interesting point and what a twist that would be. Though Gideon mentioned that he didn't spend the night with Corrine and was glad that the engagement ended as he couldn't explain why he wanted to sleep in seperate rooms! Maybe he knew of the nightmares and didn't realise he was acting them out until he spent the night with Eva???
yeah or maybe he noes but is not tellin eve cause of what nathan did... in the book when eva corrine and madaline was talking an corrine was talking about gideon she said he was to abusive or violent something like that
Veronica wrote: "in the book when eva corrine and madaline was talking an corrine was talking about gideon she said he was to abusive or viole..."
I think she said something more on the lines that he was possessive.

I know that his father is supposed to a have committed suicide, but what if that's just a cover story to explain his death. His mother could've killed him and covered it up, but Gideon knows the truth.

I think his fathers death is a cover up too.

There is a Youtube video of an interview. Penguin UK Books - Sylvia Day Hangout. She talks about what's in Reflected In You.Cant wait sounds good and Gideon shows his jealous side.
i watched an interview with Sylvia on Facebook.itis most likely the same one.I agree,Gideon will show his jealous side.i can't wait to read the next book!.On another note while listening to Sylvia,i was surprised to hear that Eva's name is pronounced AVA.i assumed it was EVE-A lol

Sorry using a Kindle. If you go to Youtube and type in Penquin Uk books. - Sylvia Day and click on the video ..
She's interviewed by two Brits I think.
Ok for those who think Gideon was abused by his mother, there is a part in the book after the f*ck pad when he takes Eva back yo hhis house and tells her that besides his mother she is the only female that 's been there.I doubt Gideon being the man that he is would let his abusers into his sanctuary.
I absolutely LOVED this book! I thought it was better written than Fifty Shades (and I loved Fifty Shades). I am eager for the second book to come out! I think some of Gideon's secrets will be revealed in book 2. We know he was sexually abused, but we are left to wonder by whom. And the journey for him to escape the abuse will also be interesting. Sylvia Day left a lot of questions at the end of Bared To You. Gideon seems repulsed by his mother. I can't help but wonder what her role in his absue may be... but it is definitely there!
I relate a lot to Eva. Sexual abuse alters so many aspects of person's life. Eva's issues with trust, her self-esteem, her neediness... all products of a situation where you have been stripped of all of those things. I love her character because despite struggling with all of these things, Sylvia Day made her strong and capable. This isn't a woman who goes down easy anymore! I hope the next two books keep Eva strong and of course, loving Gideon! :)
i love Gideon and Eva and think they both have the pwer to heal each other.i hope Gideon opens up more in "reflected in you".I think his mother probably knew what was going on with him and didn't help.that might be why he has issues with her
Still on my kindle so cant do a link but Sylvia Day posted a snippet from Reflected on her facebook page......

I wonder what question Eva asked Gideon, because the answer she got was not to her liking. We all knew how she acted when she informed him of her childhood and she thought he didn't want her any more.
She freaked out.
October will be here before you know it (I hope)
Samountha wrote: "To all the ladies that read Bared To You after Fifty.. I love that this is going to be a series! I just wanted to know what your thoughts were about the sequel and what the author will go more into..."You are on the money with these questions. I have these same exact thenouf
????????????????? I guess we will find out soon enough.
I really hope that the series doesn't see the couple turning too much into BDSM, because I don't want more books propagating the (incorrect) stereotype that everyone into BDSM was abused as a child.I also hope that they don't "cure" one another and decide they want to go totally vanilla, though. I hope they find happiness together AND make a power-exchange work for them. I think it's important people know that vanilla isn't healthier than the alternatives!
I wonder if part of Christopher's animosity has to do with Gideon's absurd level of success and financial wealth - he is, essentially working for his brother, as is his father (since Gideon owns a controlling interest in their business). Maybe his father respects Gideon more than Christopher. I can see how that would make Christopher want to take something back from Gideon, want to beat him at something.
I thought the first book set up a lot of potentially dangerous adversarial characters and I hope we see some suspense and conflict elements.
I hope that Cary can stop self-destructing, and I hope Magdalene gets over Gideon and finds happiness, too.
Well a telling scene in the book in the house party / library where they have sex. Eva questions why he doesn't just "bend her over" instead of draping her over the back of the couch.
So we know he was sexually abused by some one and he doesn't like that position because throughout the book it was either missionary or Eva on top.
i think his step father raped him, and he passed him around to his pedophile friends. his mother knows, but tries to bury her head in the sand. Christopher may or may not know, but he is jealous of him because his father gave Gideon so much of his enterprise. maybe gideon doesn't want Eva around Christopher, because he feels Christopher is a pedophile as much as his father was.
