Hi guys, we need your inputs. Please post your comments and suggestions. For KD, Jzhun, and Tina, if you have a better way of putting things than the way I wrote them, please let me know. I came up with this during my lunch break, hahaha.
Angus! This is awesome! Let's wait for their feedbacks.Another idea that I thought before is to put a short history of our group in a dedicated thread that will only have 1 post (then close na for comments) Then we will update as we go along. Io-open for comments ng moderator kapag gusto nating i-update. Something like the highlights for each year. Any takers?
Then another thread that I'd like to have is also a dedicated one (then close na for comments) giving the rolling summary of plans for the next 12 months. Books lined up for F2F, moderator's name and profile, outreach, christmas party, general membership meet up (as in birthday ko), Alabat outing, movie date alerts, bookstore raid plans, etc. We can also include the annual interest events like Nano, Readercon, MIBF, etc. We can also put here the on-going projects or initiative. Any takers?
Then another dedicated thread for Dra. Ranee to post the financial record of the group. Di pa kami nakapag-open ng joint account!!! Para alam nating lahat kasi donations yon money from the members.
Yong mga questions or suggestions, dito sa FAQ or Shoutouts or specific management threads puwedeng ilagay.
I think either you or Jzhun should take care of the history, kasi ako ay supling pa lamang, haha. Then siguro si Tina for the schedule of events, dahil siya ay maraming connections.
I don't mind taking care of the schedule of events. :D Haha ako na ang event planner. On another note, I think maybe we should mention that TFG100 is reviewed every 2 years?
Thanks LS! A lot of credit goes to you for mentioning this in one of the threads.Miss Louize and other members, if you feel that there are other FAQs that I missed, please let me know. Thanks again. :)
As an aside: any news about the official website? I think that's been in the offing since last year. It would be nice to have an official "home" outside of Goodreads, where photos of events (like F2Fs) can be uploaded for the benefit of those who don't frequent Facebook, like Ms. Ronnie. :)
RA, it's not manageable to email this to new members because we don't get a notification when someone joins the group.Buddy, looks like Tina and Aaron are busy. I proposed a group blog, pero parang ayaw rin nila kasi raw walang magmamanage. Parang ang cute kasi tingnan, we post reviews of TFG 100 books and events, updates, etc.
Jzhun, I was thinking na detalye. Isang Post isang year. Highlights per year. Kasama na mga attendees. Tas baka pedeng lagyan ng group photo per year. Parang historical thread.
Actually, I don't mind a group blog but true yung question nung pag manage. :) Parang yung NaNoWriMo Philippines website lang, medyo namamatay sya pag off season. But since we don't really have an off season, I think we can get people to write for it.But wait. Haha promise we will have it up within the year. :D
Hi!I think that setting up these guidelines is simply awesome. Thank you for giving it much thought.
But if we are going to have a group blog, it means we're going to add more guidelines. And we should be very considerate to whoever will manage the blog. We are a busy lot, so di dapat mag-expect na maa-update immediately ang page.
Hi guys, I appended guidelines on editing/deleting messages (to prevent spamming and flooding). Also, I added a request to refrain from typing uhm, abnormally, hahaha!
hi angus, i actually asked jzhun about this. I don't know if it's applicable, do we have any grounds for expulsion from this group?
I'll make note of it, sa next F2F na lang siguro. :D
Angus, can we also add sa FAQ na:As this is a private group, the moderators have the right to kick any members in the group out in the observance of any misconduct or offending behavior on their part.
Or something to that effect na mas mapapaganda mo pa maliban sa awkward sentence construction ko.
Salamat! :)
Angus wrote: "There you go, JZ.At bakit pagsipa ang nasa isip mo??"
Sorry, kung harsh ang term. Pwede bang deleted or blocked from the group.
Salamat! :)

I wonder who triggered this idea?! *wiggling eyebrows* haha!
Janus Vielle wrote: "I wonder who triggered this idea?! *wiggling eyebrows* haha!"Hi Janus!
I thought of it while approving some requests. I like to impress to our newly-approved members that granting their approval to join our group, it consequently carries with it responsibility on their part to self-moderate themselves and to what they post on the group.
I know this sounds strict, but we've been through a hard lot lately and this simple rule, in my opinion, should make it easy for the moderators to root out, delete, and block trollers and posers.
Thank you, Janus. :)

Nice one! ^_^

Welcome to The Filipino Group! The first thing that we recommend you to do is to drop by the Introductions thread and say hello. You may tell us a little bit about yourself and the books that you like to read.
You may also explore the other threads. We strongly encourage you to participate in them.
Are there any rules that I need to follow when posting a message?
There are some rules that we need to consider to keep the harmonious relationship of everyone in the group. First, make sure that your post is not offensive. Be respectful, which means no personal attacks toward anyone. Also avoid unnecessary profanity. And no pornographic materials please!
The moderators have the right to terminate the offending person's membership in the group, especially if the person repeatedly fails to observe these guidelines on behavior and conduct despite the warnings. So always remember to keep it clean and fun!
And oh, please click the comment button only once to avoid spamming and flooding. And if it isn't too much to ask, please refrain from typing in ALL CAPS or in FuNkY cAsEs or in txtspk. It is not prohibited, but we strongly encourage you to type properly because this is easier on the eyes.
How do I avoid spamming and flooding?
Sometimes, Internet connection may be intermittent, causing duplicate posting of comments. In such cases, please click Delete at the lower-right corner of the duplicate message.
If you have already clicked the Comment button and you still want to add additional stuff, click Edit at the lower-right corner of the corresponding message. This is a better practice than posting a new comment.
I would like to start a new topic. On which folder should I put it?
Anyone may create a thread for a number of topics. Please see the items below for your guide:
TFG 100 Favorite Books - for books that are included in the TFG 100 list.
Specific Books (Non-TFG100) - for books that are not included in the TFG 100 list.
Specific Authors - for general talk about any author.
Open Forum - for any book or author-related topics.
Writing - for literary attempts.
Promote Your Stuff Here! - for book-related stuff that you wish to promote, such as your own book, event, etc.
If you just have a short message you wish to share, you may also post at the Shout Outs thread.
How do I delete a topic that I just created?
You may message any of the moderators for that request. Please understand that they may not immediately get to your request as they are also people with real life concerns. Nevertheless, your request for deletion will be granted.
Also, threads with no replies for the past 30 days, except for General topic threads, are moved to the Archives folder.
I would like to read a book with the members. How do I do this?
First, make an announcement at the Reading Buddies announcement thread. If anyone responds to your announcement, you may agree to any start date and pace, then create your own thread at the Buddy Reads folder.
How are the books of the month selected?
These are selected during F2F Discussions. Attendees vote on the nominated books, which are picked from the suggestions of moderators and members. However, the result during the F2F Discussions may be vetoed by non-attending members if the total voters count of the counterpart online poll reaches 10% of the total number of members of the group.
What are F2F Discussions?
These are offline face to face discussions of the books of the month. A volunteer discussion leader facilitates these. Online threads are created both for members who cannot attend these events and for the preparation of the culminating offline discussion.
What is TFG 100?
The Filipino Group's 100 Favorite Books is a list of books voted and deliberated by the members. This is headed a committee nominated and selected for the purpose of managing the polls and compiling the results.
The current edition serves as a guideline in the selection of the books of the month for 2012. The list is revised every two years to give room for recently published books.
