Do I need to read the first book, Johnny Be Good, to enjoy this one?

Addicted to Audiobooks I'm wondering how many people read this second book without reading the first, Johnny Be Good. Did it effect your enjoyment of the story? Did you wish you had read some backstory first? If you did read the first book, did it make the sequel more satisfying?

Samantha I read Johnny Be Good first and then this one. I would recommend reading them in order as you get the full story rather than the other way round. Just a warning through you may find yourself not entirely happy with the love story come the end of Johnny Be Good you only get the true love story in Baby Be Mine

Thanks for the reply, Samantha! I did get the impression that some people weren't satisfied with the first books ending. I'll have to try harder to hunt down JBD. Thanks again.

Charmaine You would be deeply confused if you read Baby Be Mine before Johnny Be Good, because then you wouldn't understand the story behind it and all. So, I deeply recommend reading Johnny Be Good 1st.

Victoria (daisyduck) You could read Baby be mine as a stand alone story, but if you read Johnny be good first, you will understand why she is so tolerant of Johnny's behaviour.

Britt Johnny be good and baby be mine are amazing! You'd be seriously missing out if you didn't read them in order!

Bieke I read baby be mine without even knowing there was a first book... it was recommended to me by goodreads based on books I read before. I loved it and I'm not really sure if a want to read the first one

Addicted to Audiobooks Got my hands on Johnny Be Good (finally!) and am so glad I read it in order. I think I'm one of the few, but I actually liked it better than Baby Be Mine. Although BBM is still very good in itself I think the build up from the first book is the interesting part. Paige Toon is now one of my favourites.

Victoria (daisyduck) I agree. I found JBG heart-rending in a way that I really didn't with BBM.

M. Yes! You gotta read them in order to get the full picture and I liked BBM better just because we finally got a happy ending.
