Dustin I'm re-reading The Tommyknockers by Stephen King as part of the SK group's September read.

I'm really hoping to get further today!

message 156: by hypergraphiac (new)

hypergraphiac I'm reading Way To Wisdom An Introduction to Philosophy by Karl Jaspers for my academy studies, and I'm loving it. Hope to finish it before the seminar. :)

I'm glad you're loving it, Ginta!:)

message 158: by Char (new)

Char Since I last posted I've read:
Alex I gave it 4*, it was excellent, but it was difficult to read at times. A couple loses their young son and are trying to cope.
The Harrowing This was a ghost story that seemed to peak way to early. It was ok, I gave it 3*.
Now I am reading the second book of that fantasy trilogy: The Wise Man's Fear. These were written by Patrick Rothfuss and I am just loving them. Epic fantasy, but not a lot of swordplay and fighting, (at least, not so far). I would recommend these books to anyone who enjoys fantasy.

Dustin Yes, Rage is really quite disturbing, isn't it, Holly?

Just wait until you get to The Long Walk!

Sure! Which ones have you read? I read What-the-Dickens: The Story of a Rogue Tooth Fairy earlier this year, and about 5 or 6 years ago I read Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and my copy of that one (along with about 10 other books) got ruined by a leaky air conditioner that was above the book shelf... made me sad. I want another copy to do a re-read and also find the others in that series. I enjoyed both of those books though, and would love to read more by Maguire. So far this one's not bad, I'm a little less than halfway through :D

Hi, Holly- I'm glad you're enjoying it so far! I think Rage is probably one of my favorite's of King's early work. It's so dark and vivid, and really speaks volumes about our society as a whole. It's very prophetic, as well.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) Finished Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. Still gotta get my review written. It was ok, not bad, but it didn't impress me really. I don't know if I just wasn't in the right mood and mind for it or if it just wasn't that awesome. I think I might hang on to it in my collection for awhile, maybe give it a re-read one day a few years from now and see if I like it better. Either that or put it in my to-swap box. Haven't decided yet...
Don't know what to read next either... I'm thinking I might need a King fix, maybe that's why I'm having problems being satisfied by anything lately... Maybe Bag of Bones or The Green Mile, it's been a good long while since I've read either of them... We'll see what calls to me when I go rootin' through the ol' TBR cupboard.

message 184: by Char (new)

Char BTW, the Kindle version of The Green Mile is on sale at Amazon today for only $5.99. (Down from $7.99).
