Sarah Who is your role model? Or, who would you rather be other than yourself in the whole world? Why?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

I have a lot of role models, my parents, my fave teacher, and a famous one is Demi Lovato.

Hannah (cloveshay) Haha so true :)

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

All my friends are my role models in different aspects of life.
My parents too, because, you know, they're not the average parents so...
Some teachers, authors, lots of fictional characters... :)

message 8: by Sarah (new)

Sarah This is actually a hard one for me. Because we need examples to guide us... But we have to be ourselves too.

My parents, for different reasons. My mother is loving and always forgiving, and my dad is optemistic and just SMART.

People like J.K Rowling who came from nothing almost, to being amazingly successful with her work.

People like Martin Luther King. Jr.... Who tried enormously hard to change the world for the better.

And characters like Luna Lovegood... I know she's fictional but I know there are also real people out there. Shes not afraid to be who she is and I think that's one of the most important things in life.

message 23: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments aw, I don't have a sister, sometimes I wish I did. Sometimes.

message 24: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (nerdistheword) | 15 comments Sometimes I'm glad I have sisters....sometimes.

message 25: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments are they annoying? The can't be worse than brothers! I don't have any siblings at all. Only child!!!

message 26: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (nerdistheword) | 15 comments No they're both older so they would think I was annoying wayyyyyy before I would think it about them lol I actually wish I had a brother....it seems awesome! ...although I would then have to change some lifestyle habits lol but my middle sister is literally my best friend, even though she's 4years older she is :) do you like it?? Being an only child?

message 27: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments Being an only child is both a blessing and a curse. Mostly a curse, we don't really have sibling rivalry, but we get bored and that makes us a little phsyco because we "go inside our heads" alot. Alot of interaction with older peoples and/or adults happens.

That's part of this articla I read, very true!!!!!It also says that only children are like superheros! And that we're really mature! Basically, I like being an only child, but I want to be around my friends alot so it gets annoying.

message 28: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (nerdistheword) | 15 comments Yeah both my sisters are gone during most of the year so I get pretty lonely...it's just weird when you're alone when you're constantly around people. That's a cool article,I have an only child friend

message 29: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments I kinda didn't get the mostly a curse from the article, I forgot to put parentheses. This is part of the article, without the details and there's another paragraph!

"In a special class is the only child. Minus any sibling rivalry, the only child gains the benefits of both the eldest as well as the youngest. This, of course, can be a great thing or a curse. For instance, the solo child tends to lean towards a self-centered existence. And is spoiled at times. However, they also mature much faster and are generally special achievers."

message 30: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments "The Only Child – a Superhero
Dr. Leman states that, "Only children are super first borns. They're little adults by age seven." They are sensitive and their feelings can be hurt very easily. In many cases, they do not get along well with children of their own age. They prefer older classmates or even adults as friends. "The only child has a great chance of being extremely successful." Famous examples include: Albert Einstein, Lance Armstrong and Elvis Presley."

Here's the other paragraph for the only child

message 31: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments "The Youngest Overview
They can't lose position in life. The youngest child is the last and reaps the rewards of that. Moms especially hold on to their youngest as long as they can. The baby of the family almost always has the unique ability to get away with just about anything. There is a prevailing attitude in the family that wishes to protect the youngest at all costs - even when it's not rational. The baby learns that lesson early and applies it well. The most laid-back folks on earth are usually last-born kids."

Thought you might like to see this

message 32: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments "The Youngest – Always the Star
In Dr. Leman's analysis, last born children are usually happy people. They are likely to end up as entertainers, in just the family, or as their chosen career. Famous examples are Ellen DeGeneres, Eddie Murphy and Whoopi Goldberg. They are the least likely to wind up as President of the United States. The youngest child is usually very outgoing, manipulative and very good with people."

hmm, interesting ;)

message 33: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (nerdistheword) | 15 comments Lol that it is...I don't think some of that applies to me but some of it kinds does lol

message 34: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments yeah, same here, I mean the only child stuff of course. It sorta reminds me of like zodiac signs, like how they assum the people who are born under that sign are like, however they say!

message 35: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (nerdistheword) | 15 comments Yeah there are always exceptions! Lol but I really do like to look at my horoscope I only to laugh at it lol

message 36: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Hawkins | 39 comments yeah, its so mystical and serious that it's stupid! well, no offense to anyone who likes it, that really is just my honest opinion, and I guess they're fun to read, I just love what they say about alot of my friends!!!! My sign is an Aquarius!! yours?

message 41: by Jocelyn (new)

Jocelyn (pink3) | 2 comments My role model is my mother, she's probably one of the best people I've ever encountered and gotten to know.
She makes impossible things look possible and with no extra stress. When I grow up and get fully mature, I do want to be like her.
