Glad to have you back Pragya!
I finished my second e-book Reluctant Protector by Nana Malone and I liked it better than the first book I read. I gave it 2.5 stars :) I seem to read slower on my kindle so I'm going to find a book off my real booshelves to read.

You can do it!

Thanks for the warning on the first book you read : ) I don't think I have that one but if I do I know to delete it lol

I am back. My guests are gone now that it is after midnight. I won a few card games and lost a few. I think it is time for another pot of tea. Lemon Ginger or Vanilla Caramel?
Lemon Ginger would be my pick :) Vanilla makes me sleepy. Speaking of tea I have to put the kettle on again.
I think I will go with the Lemon Ginger, Kimberly. I believe I have had enough sugar for today. You know I have noticed in the last half hour that I have been replacing most of the duologue in this audiobook version of A Room with a View with the voices of Helena Bonham Carter, Maggie Smith and all the others from the film. It makes up for the fact that this narrator cannot for the life of him do justice to the ladies' voices.
Alright so I think I may start When the Sea is Rising Red by Cat Hellisen while my Kindle charges. If I finish it by the time my Kindle is done charging I may start another e-book.How's everyone holding up? It's 1:50 am here and I'm feeling great :)
It's so funny to hear someone talking about dinner when I posted this morning and at various times throughout the last 12 hours and now talk of breakfast. My eating schedule is usually way off, but now my poor mind is totally confused about when and what to eat :)I'm 1/3 of the way through Case Histories. I'm intrigued by how the three cases will connect. I wish listening wasn't so much slower than reading. My eyeballs would like to rest. Not sure about e-books on the computer. Nice to not have to hold anything, but limits comfy positions.

So true jaxnsmom, I was so surprised to find so many people from different timezones all taking this 24 hours to read together. I am having a blast picturing everyone like a great big global sleepover with snacks and book discussions.
ACK... Robin, you lucky person! I loved both Northanger Abbey and Anne of Green Gables. The entire series is fantastic.Aaand... done with The Old Man and the Sea. I'm sick of non-romances, but there's no romances for me until tomorrow, at least. I overindulge in them.
I liked the book-- mostly the descriptions of fighting with the sharks and the fish, and the old man's conversation with his hands. His always wishing for something got on my nerves a bit... but all in all an okay read.
I'm starting Maitreyi now. I'm reading it in Romanian, as that's the original language. It's harder going than it would be in English... but I'm not about to find a translation.
I can't do it. I must go sleep! See you in the morning - or should I say, later this morning? Happy reading.
I took Mikki's suggestion and looked up the number of pages for the individual books in the Griffin & Sabine Trilogy since the GR description unhelpfully listed zero pages. They are 46, 48 and 48 pages respectively which will help my total count.

People saying good-night while others are waking, morning coffee there and a evening glass of wine here--you never notice or think about all of the different time zones and countries until we do these all nighters.
Oh, and Good Morning, Pragya!
New York City @ 2:47am
I absolutely love the Griffin & Sabine books! Are you going to pick up The Gryphon: In Which the Extraordinary Correspondence of Griffin & Sabine Is Rediscovered , Alexandria: In Which the Extraordinary Correspondence of Griffin & Sabine Unfolds and The Morning Star: In Which the Extraordinary Correspondence of Griffin & Sabine is Illuminated next?
Well good morning all! It is now a little after 8am and I managed to get in about 2 hours kip (got distracted when I first went for my nap by reading abit of The Vanishing Cyclist e-book I've been reading this week). My next read for this challenge is going to be Tales of the Absurdid, which I'll be reading while having yet another cup of tea and a crumpet for my breakfast :-)
And well done to everyone still going strong!
3 a.m. here and while I'm 27 % in I'm getting hungry again... I've got a cup of tea beside me though so hopefully I can avoid snacking. While I'm sipping my tea my character is working as a dishwasher in a tea house I for one am glad I'm drinking not doing the cleaning.
It's 5:14pm and I'm itching to open up some romance books. Naturally, I can't. XDAbout 9% through Maitreyi and I'm starving... so I'm going to go eat some dinner.
*yawns* Morning all! I fell asleep sometime around 4am and just woke up which is a little later than I planned. Now for some tea and back to Of Mice and Men
Kat wrote: "*yawns* Morning all! I fell asleep sometime around 4am and just woke up which is a little later than I planned. Now for some tea and back to Of Mice and Men"
Kat, when you're finished with Mice and Men come share your thoughts with Judy, Pragya and me on our buddy reads page. We're Steinbeck fanatics and never tire of talking about his work.
Argh... you know what? I'll just read 20% of this book every day for five days. And 10% of Ulysses. I can't stand the thought of reading all of Maitreyi tonight. My brain is dead.
Right I've finished Tales of the Absurdid and am now in need of a really brainless read, think the two hour kip I had killed more brain cells than it helped! And good morning Kat, hope your sleep has helped more than mine did ;-)
Maria wrote: "Debra: The standing on one foot? I was contemplating reading with my feet at a ninety degree angle and vertically, but... there are limits. XD The only reason I'm doing it, really, is because:- I..."
Same here, with one exception. I've never read steam-punk, which is what I'm doing now.
Sam wrote: "Right I've finished Tales of the Absurdid and am now in need of a really brainless read, think the two hour kip I had killed more brain cells than it helped! And good morning Kat, hope your sleep ..."
Five hours has refreshed me perfectly :) Nearly finished with Of Mice and Men and will then continue with I am Legend
I'm 68 percent done my book, 4:40 am and I have to take a break to do the dished from dinner (I got lazy) Then I'll be back!
Debra wrote: "Maria wrote: "Debra: The standing on one foot? I was contemplating reading with my feet at a ninety degree angle and vertically, but... there are limits. XD The only reason I'm doing it, really, is..."What book are you reading? I like the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger with Alexia Tarabotti.
I'm over half way through Case Histories. Hopefully only another 45 minutes to finish.

Both very good books, how are you enjoying them?
Of Mice and Men was great - I'll definitely be hopping over to the buddy reads thread with my thoughts later.I'm all caffeinated up and ready to continue with I am Legend - I only got 25 pages into it before I fell asleep last night!

I was pleasantly surprised when I read Of Mice and Men too and I'll look forward to seeing what you think of I Am Legend. Have you seen the film version? I had before I read the book and the two are very different.
I have seen the movie, several times. I like when the book and movie versions are different, I hate comparing books to movies as I read!
Time for breakfast! I'm going to embrace my inner Dutch today and have a very popular breakfast drink Goede Morgen - which is essentially a smoothie - with wheat, strawberry, kiwi and banana.
I finished my book!!I really enjoyed it as it was a very different read. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it but I suspect that's because I'm sleepy. It's just after 6am here. I gave the book 4 stars though brining my page count total to 533 pages :)
I think I might call it a night since I've been hearing the birds chirping since 4 am and now the sky has gotten really bright.
I hope everyone has an excellent time reading and finishing up the toppler! I for one am off to bed, well I'm already in bed but I feel rather sleepy. I'll be back later, I've set my alarm for 11:30am so expect me back around then.Happy Reading!
Okay, so there's only about 3:45h left! How's veryone doing?I'm going through easier books now-- leaving Maitreyi for later and reading Zombicorns instead.
I've got 30 pages to go of I am Legend, then I guess I'm going to have to find something else to read!I remember the last Toppler, at the end I was reading really easy short stories because I couldn't cram anything else into my brain!
Maria wrote: "Do you like it?"The book is written for young adults and is a bit predictable, but it has its clever moments. I like the meshing of Victorian and modern elements.
jaxnsmom wrote: "Debra wrote: "Maria wrote: "Debra: The standing on one foot? I was contemplating reading with my feet at a ninety degree angle and vertically, but... there are limits. Just finished Case Histories. Should have finished sooner, but there a snack break and a dog break, but at least I finished it! Unfortunately I don't think I'll have time to finish anything else, but I can at least start another book.

I've read Zombiecorns and I loved it! What do you think of it Maria?
I'm reading Mayhem: A Collection of Stories which is a bit easier for my brain to deal with.
I'm done with I am Legend and I really liked it - certainly different to the movie but I like both of them in different ways! Now to find something else to read.....I honestly didn't think I'd get this far!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it Kat :-)
Now finished Mayhem: A Collection of Stories and don't know what to read next. Might take a short break and get ready for the rugby this afternoon and contemplate my options while I'm at it.

I'm listening to 70's oldies on the music station. Ahh, the nostalgia. :)
