Currently reading "Shadows of the Empire" and also the new Dawn of the Jedi comic Sries, which both so far are excellent.

Reading Star Wars: Scoundrels and loving it. Liking how Winter (and references to Mezzic) is in it especially having just finished rereading The Thrawn Trilogy. Nice touch.
I second the Darth Bane book. Just finished the 3rd and loved it. Much better series than I expected.
I'm about to finish Choices of One, and I haven't read anything else outside of this and Allegiance. I have all of Timothy Zahn's books, and I'm debating whether to read Scoundrels or the Han Solo trilogy next.
What do y'all think?

They Crispin is pretty good. I finished the Bane trilogy. Good set of books, I wish they were longer though.
I've tried to keep up with each book that came out since the original Tomothy Zahn series. But I just resently bought Pablo Hildalgo's "The Star Wars Essential Readers Companion". So I decided to use the Readers Companion. To use as the main guide and start reading from the beginning again. Since I've read some of the extended series over 15 years ago
That is a good idea. I look at the timeline in the latest books, look at amazon, and write down be order of them when I purchase the latest books.
I really want to read the Crispin books though. D: I'm not sure why, but I do want to read them.
I have a Iphone and for anyone else who has one and is not aware. If you go into the App Store under Star Wars Book Collectors there is a App in the App Store
Chuck isn't promoting anything illegal. The app is one you can purchase use legally through Apple's app store that allows you to track what Star Wars books you own and/or want to buy. There is no copyright infringment because its not the books that are for sale, simply a list of books.

It's a good app. It only gets updated once in a blue moon, but worth having nonetheless.
Anyway, back on topic. Just finished Scoundrels. Fantastic!

Is Scoundrels good? I'm debating between reading MORE Timothy Zahn with Scoundrels or going to the Han Solo trilogy.
I'm halfway done Reafing the Drummer From Kiss's book. Which is horrible by the way. But once I start a book I have to finish it. As soon as it's done I'm gonna start The Lost Tribes Of Sith The Collected Stories
Hi, new to the EU and to the group, Im currently reading the 2d book on the Thrawn trilogy and I´m loving it, I was wondering, what series should I continue once I finish with Thrawn. I would love something about the founding of the (old) Jedi order and the division with the Siths. Any advice is welcome.
I liked the bane series. It discusses the rule of 2 and another series that is good is the X-Wing series
Mauricio, I was going to say that after the Thrawn Trilogy there is the Hand of Thrawn duology. I personally haven't read the Darth Bane series (but I haven't read many books at all).
Besides that, I've also heard the X-wing series is good. I can't help all that much. >:

Started re-reading the Jedi Academy trilogy & finished Jedi Search. Boy is it bad. Didn't recall it being such a mess. All the characters seem out of place and extremely whiny. Plus when I saw See-Threepio and Artoo-DeToo I knew I was in trouble.Working myself forward in the timeline after the Thrawn Trilogy hence this adventure. Was going to do the X-Wing series first. My boo-boo.
I finally finished Choices of One~
AH I CAN'T HANDLE MY NEED FOR A SEQUEL.
I love the Hand of Judgement WAYYYYYY too much.

I just recently started a from-the-top EU re-read, going way, way back to the pre-Zahn stuff. I blasted through Splinter of the Mind's Eye (not good) and Brian Daley's Han Solo adventures (pretty good!) fairly quickly, but then I came to the plodding morass that is the Lando Calrissian adventures. Anyone else tried these? Anyone actually enjoy them? Speaking for myself, I find them AWFUL. Can't wait to finish them and move onto Thrawn.
I just Starred Revan after just finishing The Lost Tribe Of The Sith. After that I read the Tales Of The Jedi comic book series. Even though i read almost every Star Wars book released up till The Fate Of The Jedi Series. I figured Pablo Hildago's book The Essential Reading Companion was a great way to start the entire Star Wars Expanded Universe in order including the Books,Comics,Young Adult Books and anything else listed. I'm just curious if any one else is using Pablo Huldago's The Essential Readers Companion as a guide to start reading the Star Wars series
The best thing about the Lando books are the titles. But yeah, they're pretty dismal. FLAMEWIND OF OSEON is a hair better than MINDHARP OF SHARU, but that's not saying much. I'm not holding out hope that STARCAVE OF THONBAKA will be much better, but I've made it this far, I might as well plow through to the end.
@Derrick. I would Definately look into Pablo Hildago's The Essential Readers Companion. It give you a break down of each book. Plus it not only deals with The Star Wars Novels. It also includes the Comics,EBooks,Short Stories,Yong Adult Novels. Plus it is up to date as far as the book Scourge. It would not be hard to slip any future books where they belong in the timeline
@Matthew. You sound like me once I start a book bad or not I have to finish it because it will bug me lol
@Tammy. I am doing the exact same thing as you are. I'm using Pablo Hildago's Essential Readers Companion. I also am reading in chronological order. I just finished Revan and have started The Knights Of The Old Republic Comics. Which were next to read after Raven
@Allie. I have both of KOTR for Xbox but have rarely played them. I just finished Raven and up to number 7 of the KOTR comics
@Alli are you talking about the Xbox games. I'm also playing The Old Republic on the computer. If the comics happen before the Xbox games I'll read them the try out the Xbox
Yeah KOTOR 1 and 2 happen after the comics. It's comics ---> KOTOR 1 and 2 then then the Revan book then TOR.
But if we're talking about chronology of just the release. It's 1, 2 then the comics then Revan then TOR.
I think you probably lost the suspense of the games.

I might have lost the suspense but will still enjoy them. Plus my 11 year old has not read the comic's so I'll enjoy watching him discover the game also
Wow... I was in college 2003. I only played the 2nd one and I thought the game was great. Reading Prime Vector and cool to see the Yuuzhan Vong being infiltrating the Republic.
P:
I'm a freshman in college now. 2003/2004 was when I got really into Star Wars because I finally got to see the original trilogy and know what Star Wars was. Then in 2005 Celebration III was in Indy which is hour and a half/two hours away from my house and we went to that.

Just finished A Forest Apart novella
This was an enjoyable novella. It is told purely from Chewbacca's POV which I believe is a first. You actually get to hear/understand Chewie's dialogue along with his wife Malla and son Lumpy. It was nice to read a fun tale about Chewie given his demise so many years ago in Vector Prime and his absense from LOTF and FOTJ. He has shown up recently in the various Timothy Zahn books (Scoundrels, Allegiance, Choices of One) but you really never get an idea of what is going on in Chewie's head. This was a good addition to what he thinks about, how he sees his family/relationship with Han, and general outlook.
