My 3d final editor was a friend of about 25 years who's kind of picky about what he reads but he sure seems to like my stuff. His review is here:Paul's review of Conditioned Response
Oddly enough, he's the only one who commented on the sex :) The scenes are explicit, they are very hawt and they are abundant. At least, until people start dying.
I've had 8 requests for the book to be emailed so far. I'm not advertising the free copies far and wide but in 3 places. I suspect only 2 or 3 of those will convert into actual reviews, not for lack of desire, but for lack of time/inclination to write reviews, generally. Not every reader enjoys writing reviews. I don't, forex. I like discussing books in groups but not posting reviews. I don't expect 100% of people who request the book to actually make good on their review promise. Am I too cynical? o_O
Am still taking requests until April 30th so feel free to submit one. The review copy going out now will have all of the editorial changes from the last 10 day marathon editing session. If you received an April 10 copy and have not yet received an offer from me to update your file, please feel free to write me and complain. I shall send an update forthwith! :)
Got an amazing 4-star review last night from a reader I knew on a SciFi forum a few years ago (2005-2007). I haven't spoken to him since and he hasn't read anything else of mine before this so I'm kind of stunned he had such a phenomenal first impression of my writing ability. Then again, it's the book, not me :-)SciFi Fan Stephen's review
The book's been selected by the SciFi and Heroic Fantasy Group here on Goodreads to be their Secondary Group Read for June 2012: Read the announcement thread here. I've also created a discussion thread in that group for use in June.

Wow, Conditioned Response just got an AMAZING 4-star review from professional reviewer Ellie Hall. Check out this eloquent description of the book's pros and cons:Professional Reviewer Ellie Hall's review
I'm stunned by the spot-on remarks, not just that I accomplished what I set out to do but that she managed to really capture the results in clear and certain terms for readers who might be "on the fence" about my book.
Can't ask for anything more from a review than eloquence and clear help to readers in their decision-making process!

Cassie's Review of Conditioned Response
Tricia's (hidden) review of Conditioned Response
Note that both Cassie and Tricia read this book 3 or 4 (or more) times from March 6 to April 20, as they were both part of the editorial team that made it what it is today! This is not just "my" work product, but theirs as well. Check it out.
(and remember, the offer for comp copies in exchange for reviews stands valid until April 30th; see deets here to sign up).
