the first book is not very good, but the other books are more interesting and I loved them. Full of action
I only read the first book and in my opinion it was definately nothing special, and I decided I wouldn't carry on the series. However lots of people love this series, so I would say it's worth a try
I was hesitant at first also until I got to the end of the second book....then I was hooked, had to find out what else these characters get into. So far the third book is my favorite but I havent finished the series yet.
I agree with everyone, I thought the first one started to get really interesting half way through it. and each book has gotten better : ]
It's ultimately up to you. We can only tell you whether we liked it or not (I thought it was interesting, personally), but that won't tell you whether or not it's to your taste. Just give it a shot and you'll know if it's worth your time to continue.
IMO after the 3rd book, Rose's character goes down hill but it's not much of a problem because the secodary are so great. Hense why i m so happy that RM has written a spin-off series with them as the focus. :D
I love this series and think anyone who has a taste for vampires should read it. If you like werewolves then you are out of luck. (Would Psi-Hounds count as a werewolf? ((Read the book to get that little inquiry.)))What I'm saying is, is that as long as you enjoy action from cover to cover your good! I personally would kiss you if you read these.
ABSOLUTELY!! I finished the entire series in less than a week. It was THAT compelling. Just don't make my mistake and read it on a busy week, like say exam week, I couldn't let go of the books and barely studied at all!
I read it , and after a while i got a bit frustrated with it , because of the events and the characters decisions but i definitely think its worth reading :D
Ill be honest about a yr ago all i read was romance. But with my friend a reader as well she encouraged me to try new books. So Ive got into vampire and werewolf books. So far I like the series!
YES! YOU MUST READ! O_OI was hesitant too! And passed many times in stores, and libraries until I hit my hip on a table this one time and it fell open and well curiosity got the best of me. The bruise on my hip was worth it because I LOVED IT!!!! Read the entire series!!! and it was so good! Richele Mead is an awesome author! I continued on to read the spin off Bloodlines! Which I have also grown to love!
DEFINITELY YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK BECAUSE THIS SERIES HAVE EVERYTHING THAT A BOOK NEEDS. Love, Hate, Jealousy, and with teenage problems. there are TWIST AND TURNS in every book in this series. There is another series which is similar called covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. if liked Vampire Academy, you should read this series as well.
I passed this series up for about a year before I decided to pick it up, and I haven't regretted it. The story line is ahhhhmazing! It's one of those series where you can get really emotionally attached to the characters. I laughed, cried and cheered on the characters, which to me, means it was a good read. I definitely suggest following Bloodlines as well. It takes place AFTER the VA books, so be sure to read them in order.
I've read most of the series, was oddly obsessed with them actually. I couldn't stop reading them, which was very frustrating because I really didn't like them. The plot itself i found kind of enjoyable but i felt the book itself wasn't written that well and too full of cliche teenage drama.
It's a cash in of the twilight vamp craze and I didn't think it was worth the read

Of course everything YA vampire related, everyone is going to think is cashing in on Twilight. VA is written better, has more character development and a better plot than Stephanie Meyers could ever have come up with. It has a better message than just choosing who will be a better boyfriend like it Twilight and Rose is more kickass than Bella ever could be. Your argument is invalid.
I still like Twilight, but VA is definitely the better series.
I was kind of skeptical about this series at first. I thought it was going to be some sappy love story with vampires. I was completely wrong. It was amazing. I read the first 4 books in 2 days. I definetaly recommend this series!

To me they are both terrible, yes I do agree VA is better than twilight. But I still found it badly written with a cliched plot. This is my opinion, it is not invalid because you disagree with it.
I read most of the books, I thought they sucked, you didn't, that's okay, you are entitled to your opinion, as am I.
Before I read these books, I thought they were going to be like twilight, But i went for them anyway, they turned out to be very different, which was a refreshing change. They are really good, the more you read, the more you wont be able to stop. I really enjoyed the series.
umm if you dont i will cry. better tahn twilight only becasue twilight was too mushy but this has more action. but deffinately romanticcccc :D
you definitely should read it! its amazing! i fell in love with rose so fast! AND OMG! dimitri. SO SEXY! its a must read!!!
