This is the group read for July and another author that is part of the author challenge. Since this is a longer book, it might be nice to have this one two months ahead to get started on it. Post comments here and please remember spoiler alerts. I think that this one might have to have multiple threads, but we can figure that out when the time gets closer. Happy reading!

Hard to believe that July is here already, but this book is now the monthly group read. I hope that you enjoy it! Can't wait to start this one.

Casceil Is there going to be any kind of reading schedule? Like particular dates to discuss part 1, part 2, etc? I think I would find it helpful.

Nada (nedgray) | 2 comments Hello :) This is my absolute first time reading with a group! I hope I can keep up with you guys :). I love the schedule idea Casceil mentioned! My major is keeping me super busy, having a schedule would be extremely helpful!

Welcome Carmania! I hope that you enjoy it! It is nice to read with others and get their perspectives on things, it helps me quite a bit!
A schedule is really helpful with the longer books, I only have a Kindle edition-does anyone have the actual book? If so, we could just split it up similar to the book. I will start with a discussion thread for Chpts 1-10 and when we get the actual breakup of the book then I can fine tune it from there.

Casceil I have the book. It is divided into eight sections, which are called "Books."

Book 1 Miss Brooke
Book 2 Old and Young (Starts with Chapter 13)
Book 3 Waiting for Death (Starts with Chapter 23)
Book 4 Three Love Problems (Chapter 34)
Book 5 The Dead Hand (Chapter 43)
Book 6 The Widow and the Wife (Chapter 54)
Book 7 Two Temptations (Chapter 63)
Book 8 Sunset and Sunrise (Chapter 72)

The books appear to be roughly similar lengths in pages (none particularly long or short). I think Middlemarch was originally published in installments, so it makes sense that the installments would be similar lengths.

Shawn (smcamp1234) Thought I'd share this link to a character relationship mind-map for all the different characters throughout the story. This is helping me remember his who as the chapters move on.
