SOLVED. Last texas ranger, sci fi, birddog robot cop [s].

I think the name of the book is the last texas ranger or something along those lines, ive searched for years and cannont find it, so i dont think the name is that. I read this book in the late 90's maybe published in early 90's or late 80's, about a texas ranger in the future, the first book he is hunting for a "brain" from a robotic cop car thing named bird dog. there are lots of gangs some of them are super druggies, the one scene i remember is him using a super suit in a canyon trying to save the bird dog, whilst the bird dog is saving a young girl running from the gangs. he uses a plasma canon on the gangs and his suit defends him automatically. he also has a flying air craft ship. the book has corrupt officals and lots of sci fi'ish things.also very graphic and bloody. any help would be great thanks.

There is a series of three books about texas rangers set in the future. The first one is Last Rangers Bk1 by Jake Davis. It looks promising.
