Is anyone reading that book Fifty Shades of Grey? I finally gave in to curiosity and added it to my Kindle after reading two paragraphs of it's preview. But I have like ten books I'm reading right now, so won't be able to start it until I finish one up.
Has anyone read it? Did you like it? This is an anything subject, right?

I have seen all of the hype surrounding Fifty Shades of Grey....I initially was intrigued because of all of the hype, but once I heard how poorly it is written and also the BDSM and erotica subject matter....um.....honestly, I decided to keep reading Stephen King. Lol. Hope my comment doesn't offend you. :)
Hi Kathryn, not offended at all. As a writer of m/m and BL I try to stay up on what is hyped. I am always trying to unwrap the mind off the mass market reader. I read, quite a bit, but my tastes and the general pub's rarely gell... so I go out of my way sometimes... I read the Twilight saga of which I mostly enjoyed Breaking Dawn and then read and loved The Host. And I really tried to make it through The Hunger Games trilogy, but the movie trailer really spoiled the books for me. On the other hand... I have not read any of the Harry Potter books and stopped after the one movie, just not my cup of tea. : (
Hi everyone my name is Donna I am 38 (soon to be 39). I love books. I don't have any certain type of genre that I read. I read pretty much anything as long as it is good. I typically don't read many romance novels. My favorite authors are Stephen King, James Patterson, Ann Rule, Ken Follett, and Jeffrey Deaver to name a few. Thanks for the invite Dustin :-)
P.S. And from what I hear....once I start reading A Game of Thrones I just might be adding George R.R. Martin to that list.

Hi Donna, you have to add Game of Thrones to that list!

I will be reading it as soon as I finish Lonesome Dove which I am about 150 pages away from finishing now. I have had great recommendations for the book and hear it is great so it is next on my TBR pile.

A Game of Thrones really is an outstanding book, and the series only gets better, IMO!
Oh, and I just noticed the title (?) below my name as listed under the moderators. What does that mean, and where is it from..?I think I know, but I'm not quite sure..:)

By the way, it means all men must die in the high Valyria of old. I can change your title if you want:)

Hi, Josiah!Perhaps this belongs in the ASOIAF thread, but since it's already been mentioned above, and I know that you LOVE the series, it got me wondering: do you have a favorite character(s)? I might have asked you that before, I'm not sure...
