Kristy Halseth | 9 comments This is a mystery with a bit of romance tossed in and might have something supernatural or paranormal in it. The main character is a woman. I can't remember the mystery at all other than the fact that she spends the entire book going down the wrong trail.

The main character's sister is about to have a baby and there are hints that there might be some marital problems. But sister isn't talking. Main Character (MC) manages to break her legs, maybe both, around the time sister goes into the hospital. Whatever happened, it was bad enough to keep her there for a while. MC's love interest either works for hospital or something law related. Can't remember which. But she gets lost in the hospital overnight and overhears a conversation that she thinks is about murder but is actually about a surprise party. At the end of the book, sister has twins. Hubby didn't know it was twins. He couldn't be bothered to go to appointments so she didn't tell him. He says he has to go pick up the other kids. The sitters eventual call because he never turned up. Find out that he packed up some stuff and took off instead. This is part of a series and somehow, I can't find any of it. But the personal relationships were better than the mystery in this one and it set up the next book. Where they go looking for the hubby and into what he has been so busy doing at work that he couldn't even keep up to date on his wife's pregnancy.

Kristy Halseth | 9 comments I found it. A Witch in Time by Madelyn Alt. Once I found it, I realized I had the next book sitting in my very large pile of books to be read on the living room endtable. That is Home for a spell. But I'm not seeing where it addresses the sister's runnaway husband. Oh well. Now I have to figure out how to move this to solved.
