Great pics. Thanks.
Some very interesting tables, statistics and photographs for all things relating to the Tiger 1:http://www.alanhamby.com/tiger.html
Please pardon me if this has been posted previously, but today I came across this reading list from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. It is in pdf format.http://www.carlisle.army.mil/library/...
I noticed several books from my readings, including:
A Soldier's Story by Omar Bradley.
Agent of Destiny: The Life and Times of General Winfield Scott by John S. D. Eisenhower.
Personal Memoirs by U.S. Grant.
George B. McClellan: The Young Napoleon by Stephen W. Sears.
Stilwell and the American Experience in China, 1911-1945 by Barbara Tuchman.
A Solider's Life is fairly difficult to find now days. Being largely replaced by A General's Life. I am going to have to find that earlier version without the polishing by Clay Blair to see what kind of differences there are. The Stilwell book I have attempted a few times but have difficulty getting into. I can say that what I have read is pretty good.

Good post. Thanks, Happy.
Found this first person account of the sinking of the Yamato on RCHhttp://www.grossepointenews.com/Artic...
I thought this was interesting - ran across the link on FOX, What do Army's around the world eat

Thanks for the links, Happy. Great account on the Yamato. And pizza with a 3-year shelf life . . . sounds interesting.
found these on a link at RCHPics of the Doolittle Raid - some I've seen, but most I haven't
http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/ev...
I was made an honorary Doolittle Raider with my wife. I knew Doolittle, one of my first interviews, and all the other raiders for many years, and interviewed them. I was very fortunate to have been invited to the goblet ceremony in 2004. That is usually only for raiders and their families, special guests. I guess I was one.

This publisher's site will hold much of interest for members - prices are high but reflect, like many university publishing arms the quality and "niche" subjects: http://www.cambridge.org/gb/academic/...

I receive many U.S. university press catalogues, but you're correct -- great niche pubs with high prices.
They are pricey but I have a few of their publications which have all been pretty good so far. You just have to hunt around for a internet store that has them discounted :)

Late in the war my dad was a parachute rigger aboard USS BUNKER HILL. They took kamikaze strikes at Okinawa. My dad said they spent several days afterward with at-sea burials.
Some of our group may be interested in this. I buy there oftenhttp://lsupress.org/lists/detail/mili...

http://www.thirdreichruins.com/This site is a goldmine of photos showing the current state of hundreds of buildings, installations, and locations in the Reich.
From Hitler's office in Munich to the buried flak tower in a Berlin park, this site has it all.

Good one!"
this site told me 'temporarily unavailable' so either ARs reference overwhelmed the site by GRers or it's run by the Italian military.
This week LSU Press is having a 45% off sale on all military history books, including WW II. Check out:http://lsupress.org/lists/detail/mili...
So I have been listening to Pandora and they keep slapping this ad up for the Flying Heritage Museum, so I looked it up. Anyone able to get to the Seattle Wa area should try and take the hop up to Everett and see this. I haven't yet, but it is on my list. Here is a link for the Wiki page that gives a partial list of aircraft. I will say that since Paul Allen owns it, I expect nice things, he doesn't do much of anything in half measures, hell he even got my Seahawks in the Superbowl twice with a win in one of those encounters.
