I don't know about any books on the subject in general.

There are all kinds of websites in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France with detailed information on a certain place, topic etc. - here is an example of a Lancaster that was shot down over the IJsselmeer in the Netherlands

Two very detailed general websites - both with English translations (although mostly auto-generated ...)

Dutch National Archives:

This seems to be the standard modern work:

Hap Arnold The General Who Invented the US Air Force by Bill Yenne by Bill Yenne

And there's these:

Hap The Story of the U.S. Air Force and the Man who Built It by Thomas M. Coffey by Thomas M. Coffey

Hap Arnold and the Evolution of American Airpower by Dik A. Daso by Dik A. Daso

Thanks, Jerome. Have you read one? I am not a fan of Yenne. The Coffey book I examined today.

I haven't read it yet, no, it was just the only one I knew off the top of my head. I haven't read any of Yenne's other books, actually.

That's a good one, Barry. Hopefully someone in the group will be able to help.
