The New York to Dallas book was one of the best in the "In Death" series - lots of threads tied off.My favourite in the series is "Survivor" with "Treachery" closing in!
this was my first JD Robb and I immediately bought the first ten books in the series after I finished this one. I guess that answers your question ;)
Elizabeth - you are a true die-hard fan!I'm in the process of re-reading the series - get mix of characters!
This was the first or second I've read in the series. I need to go back to the beginning and read them all.
I have read all the books and just biting at the bit to have the next one come out, this is one of the series that you just can't stop reading
This is by far the best book of the series. I couldn't put it down and read it cover to cover in one day.The love between Eve and Roarke is always the underlining story. Shows that even though Eve is a hard ass top notch detective she transforms when she is with her husband Roarke.
This is a must read.
I call this series my soap opera. I love this series and with each book they get better. I have often gone back and re-read the whole series just to catch up with all my favorite characters. I have laughed, cried, and clapped with joy for the characters I have come to love. They are such a major part of my life. I have over 40 books with all the books and novellas. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series.
LOVE In Death Series! Waiting for the next one! I have read them ALL and have NEVER been disappointed!!

Nora Roberts is great about keeping quality in her stories. If you like one of the In Death stories you will likely enjoy them all. I very much enjoyed New York To Dallas.
I've started the "catch up" process on this series with Naked in Death, and I'm looking forward to reading about the beginning of Eve's relationship with Roarke.
This series should be read from the beginning. The character developments are so worth it. A really excellent series of books - second to none!
yes I am another J.D Robb addict, I always find out asap the release date of the next book & then wait rathe inpatiently for it to be released. I have reread the series so many times, quite possibly more than I have read Lord of the rings & pride & prejudice. This is my favourite of the series & have already read it 2 times. The next book celebrity in death isn't nearly as good, but it could be that this book was sooooo good it over shaddowed celebrity.

Naked In Death wasn't the first of the series that I read, but after I read one, I HAD to read them all. In Naked In Death, you not only get a look at the beginning of their relationship, but you get a good look at Eve and what she was like in the beginning.
New York to Dallas.....so far has to be the best in the series. I gave it 5 STARS! I've read the whole series and re-read it at least once a year as well-because I just LOVE THIS SERIES-and this one had so much insight to Eve's past. I loved it. And I love that Roarke was there for the ride and that she has opened up enough to not be afraid to let him see it all. This series is one that you could never grow tired of and it just gets better and better with each book. Can't wait to get my hands on Celebrity In Death!
By far the best of the series. Really ties together Eve's history but with all of the action and danger we have come to love in this series.
I really enjoyed New York to Dallas; it was action packed!!! You are right Christine, it did tie a lot of things together regarding Eve's history, and of course I can only picture what Roarke looks like! Wow!Celebrity in Death was also very good, I saw more of a different side of Eve again. I gave them both 5 stars!
Like all of you I am always waiting in absolute eagerness for the next book. I even got my mom and two of my sisters addicted to the series so that we pass the books between each other. But I am the keeper of the series so I always buy the book so get first read, mostly because I can't wait for any of them to finish to find out how all my beloved characters are doing.
Yes my mother is now a keen reader. Before I introduced her to "JD Robb" she never picked up a book let alone open it and read it. She always complained about all my father's & my books taking up room in the house. Now she can't wait to read the next book & she is also reading Nora Roberts' books. She has claimed all my copies as her own. She took me into her spare room last weekend to show me her library. I had to remind her that they were all my books & that I had only loned them to her. I don't think I have much of a chance to claim them back.

You are NEVER to old to discover the magic of a Good Story! :-)
I have just bought mum a kobo for mother's day. I have loaded it with lots of Nora Roberts. I think she'll love it

Just curious, Lesley...why did you buy your mother a Kobo instead of a Nook or a Kindle or other reader? Did some feature on it really stand out?
Elizabeth wrote: "Just curious, Lesley...why did you buy your mother a Kobo instead of a Nook or a Kindle or other reader? They rated the kobo touch the best at the time. I also priced my some of my favourite authors & the books I entended to buy at the time & kobo was slightly cheaper. I decided that any amount saved meant more books that I could buy. I have been using my kobo everyday since Christmas & have no complaints in fact I love my kobo it goes everywhere with me. I got one for Dad just after Christmas, because he was wrapped in mine. Now mum will have one they do not have to share.

There are segments that I listen to "in order" and segments "by theme" BUT I will continue to re-read/listen as Eve & Roarke hit my 'involved button' so much that I can continue to LIVE in their world.
I love this series. I could not put it down. I read it in 5 hours. I did not know you could get this series on audio. I would love that!!!
I have read all the books in this series and they are all great. I look forward to the next one just as soon as I finish reading the latest. This was one was excellent and really brought more insight to the characters. I love how she continues to develope the characters with each new plot line.

You are welcome! I am SOOOOOOOOO Excited to read a new one! Right after School starts and my Husband drives the School bus so I will have plenty of time to read! read! and read!!!! :-P
I've read every one in this series, and frankly this one tops them all. It brings to light so many different facets of the characters as well as bring unanswered questions from past books into light. I can't say the same about the book that followed, and hopefully the one in September will be more in the same vein as New York to Dallas.

Thanks so much for the info! Can't wait!
I'm about halfway through reading the whole series (more or less in order) and enjoying it a lot! I started with New York to Dallas and Celebrity in Death several months ago, and I plan to read them again when I'm finished all the others. I expect them, especially New York to Dallas, to mean more when I have all the background.

I've read every Robb book except the last 3 and I don't think it has taken me more than 2 or 3 days to do it....once you get started you can't stop. I've lost a lot of sleep because of Eve Dallas...but I'll keep right on reading the books.
I tried reading this series several years ago and couldn't get into to it...now its one of my favorite. Love Eve.
From Nora News 9/5/12:"New York to Dallas won the Romance Writers of America RITA for Best Romantic Suspense in July! I’m always stunned when one of my books wins a RITA because the competition is always strong."
Yes! I loved it, too.
The In Death series is the first long series I read. J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts is an amazing author and a real inspiration for me!
