Listing authors in anthologies

Usual disclaimer, I did make a search on the topic and couldn't find anything that fit my case, so apologies if this was already discussed somewhere...

I bumped into a spot of bother editing these two books...

Originally, the whole list of authors for these books had been put in one single author field, perhaps purposely, in order to circumvent the rather strange (to me, at least) concept of a "primary" author, but this, be that a choice or not, brought along a couple of negative side effects:

First, authors listed this way aren't found in a search, since, from the DB's point of view, they are ONE author with an unusually long name...

Second, the list of authors in each main book's page appears truncated to about 3 authors and a half...

Now, that didn't seem right to me, and not only because I was one of the half authors... :)

So I proceeded to put all authors each in a separate field, solving both problems ALMOST entirely, and this is driving me up the wall because I can't understand it... now the search works for all, and the listing in the main page appears NEARLY right, except for the very last author in the list, which doesn't show up at all...

I tried "cheating" a bit, by adding a blank author field after the last one in the edit page, but that doesn't work either.

Now, why? Is there a limit to the number of author fields that can be added? But I'm almost certain I've seen longer lists in other books...

Any ideas?

Just for the record, also tried adding a "fake" author, rather than a blank field, in last position, doesn't work either.

Perhaps the viewing is currently limited to 8 authors, as your example also seems to point out.

It always has been, but there should be a "more" link that allows the others to show as well.
