I've never watched a tv show or movie in any job. Of all the IT people at companies I've worked at, I can't imagine any of them telling me to cut down on the bandwidth. Some of them were onsite, some were in another office and had no idea what you were doing. One of them I had to train how to do certain things myself....his area of expertise was very narrow. And he had a shockingly large salary....

A lot of CEOs and other upper management are looking at porn. An IT person is not going to instruct upper management not to look at porn.

Man I'd like to find these IT guys and shoot them myself! Sounds like your employers really don't care about what goes on on your network. Just wait until all the machines get infected by malware or a virus takes down their mail server!!!!

** Rant over **

Seriously though, do they not even have any monitoring and filtering software? A lot of porn sites are infested with nasty tidbits waiting to wreck PCs or a computer network.

We all had the free version of AVG installed.

I got a virus or malware at work after visiting a free mp3 site, but it didn't spread to the network.
