Yes, and it is like he has four different scenarios that he uses each time and tweaks a bit.

I read some chick-lit but it is a rarity to see me with any.

I didn't find Kirsten Hannah's books bad, just very melancholy and sad.

I agree, I guess to me that qualified them as bad because I didn't want to read them, they are very negative and depressing. There are probably worse books but for myself I want reading to be enjoyable and her books made it anything but.

They are always the same - fellow A and fellow B fall in love just like that, they are happy for a while and then one ..."
True!
Nicholas Sparks may even have writing skills (I don't see nothing special with his writing but, whatever)but he doesn't develop it because his books are always the same, just with characters with different names.
Besides, his books are boringly short. -.-

They are always the same - fellow A and fellow B fall in love just like that, they are happy for a while..."
Right, and the love is so unrealistic. Relationships actually have to develop, you can't just stick two people together and then a month later they get married.

It's true. There are a lot of depressing books out there.
Do you know author Santa Montefiore? I think you would like her work, especially the books "The Forget-Me-Not Sonata" and "Meet Me Under the Ombu Tree". :)

I do not, I will have to take a look at her stuff.

Exactly!
Usually, the protagonists of his books have nothing to do with each other and then they fall in love just like that and it's a Romeo and Juliet type of thing. -.-'

You won't regreat it!
She writes beautifully and, while having some sad things as well (after all life is not always good), her books are mainly above real people faced with real situations and trying to do the best they can.

They are always the same - fellow A and fellow B fall in love just like that..."
Right, and I understand that for a few select people do hit it off from the start (and make it last long term) but most people don't and that is reality.

I will have to take a look then.

They are always the same - fellow A and fellow B fall in love ..."
Indeed! *Sigh*
And I have a huge problem with people that say that he is the "king" of romance, without having even read one of his books! -.-'
Like my uncle, for example. He says "Nicholas Sparks is a genious and his books are extraordinary!" and then I'm like "Why in the world do you say that when you haven't read a single book written by the man?".
He says "Because I've watched the movies and they're amazing!" -.-'
I've read most of his books and I've watched every single movie adaptation of his books and I tell everybody that the movies are way better than the books!

:) Great! :)

They are always the same - fellow A and fellow B fall in love just like ..."
It never changes, it's the same old thing every time. I was a little hopeful with his The Best of Me, but it ended the same way as the others.
His best one is probably just... A Walk to Remember. Besides that, I don't know what else is worth reading.

They are always the same - fellow A and fellow B..."
And the movies aren't that great in my opinion either so he isn't all that incredible.

They are always the same - fellow A and fellow B fall in l..."
Yeah, that one was okay.

The story was interesting, but I can't stomach the characters. Especially Mary Ann.

They are always the same - fellow A and fellow B fall in l..."
You're right. A Walk To Remember is probably the best one.
His worst book is definitely The Notebook!
OMG! What a mixture of bull!
He doesn't explain a single thing and I was wondering what was going on throughout the whole book!
He didn't say, at least, how Allie ended up married to Noah if she was saying that she couldn't cancel her wedding with the other guy.
And I didn't knew what the heck happened in the end. I thought that they had both died. Just when I read The Wedding did I understand that she was the one who died. Noah is still alive. Old and sick but alive. -.-

They are always the same - fellow ..."
Yeah, the movies are not Oscar-worthy but they are nice. Way better than the books.
My favourite is, without a doubt, A Walk To Remember. Mandy Moore and Shane West are great together and they did a great job.

What? Noah lived? The hell. I haven't read the book, but I thought they died together in the movie...

They are always the ..."
I agree. Mandy Moore and Shane West delivered this sweet, sad feeling when the movie ended.

They are always the same - f..."
Yeah, the movie and the book make us think that they both died that night! -.-
Turns out, if you read The Wedding that is about Jane, Allie and Noah's oldest daughter, and her husband you see that Noah is very much alive.
He is an old man, of course and he is sick, but alive.
Jane's husband asks him for advice concerning relationships, romance, etc

Indeed!
I was constantly crying since the moment when Landon finds out that Jamie is sick! And it takes a lot for me to cry...

I know, I got teary when he talked to his dad in the middle of the night and when he was building that telescope for her. I'll have to say that the movie was better than the book!

Those parts killed me :'(
Totally! The movies are always better! Even the worst movie - Nights In Rodanthe - must be better than the book.
I haven't read that one but that must happen.

Not even going to bother reading it. Almost all his books have movie adaptations. I don't even know why. They should just do other more interesting books. Like Sarah Dessen's books or The Iron Fey or Divergent.

I so wanted the Iron Fey series adapted to movies!! +.+
They are going to adapt Julie Kagawa's The Immortal Rules and I think that it is not as wonderful as The Iron Fey...
Divergent is going to be a movie, I think. At least, I've read something about it.

I guess they can't find someone to play as Ash or something... Divergent is coming out on 2015. Way too long.

Yeah. It is difficult to find a guy to play Ash. He's perfect. :)

I liked The Notebook, but most of the others are too similar.

I actually liked the story, though the writing is really bad."
I so agree! I wanted to love it so much!"

( I thought this book is really good I actually love it.) :)

I tried so hard to read it but just couldn't read it! But maybe could give it a try again! :)

The Mortal Instruments was really good! ;)

But reading this was painful"
I understand completely. I loved the first two books. I was on a plane seated between my two brothers and they told me everything that happened, and I hated it. So i just decided not to read it

I think the way it was written actually added a lot to the story. The narrator is kind of uneducated but tough. The improper speech really emphasized that aspect of her and contributed to the overall feel of the book.

I agree! I thought the way it was written just kind of added to the story... What I didn't like was the king thing, I thought that was kind of weird, but the story was pretty good.

THANK YOU. Personally, I think ending it with the first book would have been fine.

Horrible. The writing makes it seem like it was done by a 11 year old. Also the plot sucked.

No kidding, I read them all before they were the rage at my school thinking each one would be different (boy was I sorely disappointed).
