Eventually she would have wanted to have games for the children of anyone who opposed her.

You are correct!
Finnick said that on camera while troop went into the building to get Peeta Johanna and Annie

No, Snow poisoned himself to draw away suspicion, later taking an antidote to heal. With the poisoning came sores in his mouth and throat which were constantly bleeding, so in the movie, it shows him spitting blood back into his glass of wine. While the wounds bled, he was continually coughing and hacking the blood up which made Katniss think he choked to death when they found him dead. If not choked to death, he was possibly trampled by the townspeople after the shooting of President Coin.

Exactly! It's also possible that the people killed him as he was already choking to death.

Katniss killed Coin because Coin became just like Snow. Katniss realized that, 1) Coin sent in the plane with the floating bombs that killed the kids, 2) Coin didn't want elections so she could rule, and 3) Coin wanted to continue the Games.

Before the beginning of this series he poisoned his family (I forgot who he specifically killed) so to evade the police he drank a little of that poison to make it look like he too was targeted. Over time that poison slowly began to kill him; it wasn't until Coin's death the poison took its full affect

Well, they did kill Haymitch's family, but not with that reason. It says in the book that Haymitch had managed to turn the force field around his arena into a weapon, which basically turned the gamemakers into a laughing stock. They didn't like this so killed Haymitch's family in revenge of what he did in the arena.

Katniss was technically mentally unstable by that point, but she only voted yes because then she would gain Coin's trust. She was then able to kill her.

well said

Well, I read the series in seventh grade and that was two years ago but that's all I thought when I read the books.

Wow great explanation. I had no idea this was true. Thank you from the bottom of my hart to people like you, Kristen
