kat Basically Snow tolerance in their conversation that Coin sent the parachutes, not him. When she dosnt believe him, he reminds her that they made a promise not to like to each other. On the day of the execution she realizes that Snow was telling the truth, and that all Coin wanted was to have Snow's power. If she killed Snow, Coin would have taken over and would have become another Snow. Snow was going to die either way so Katniss decided it was better to have coin dead first

Anthony Hernandez I believe the reason Katniss killed coin was because shortly after the conversation and voting for the new hunger games with the capitols children she came to her senses and realized something very important. Alma Coin was just as bad as President Snow and if she wanted to have another hunger games with the capitols children then that means she would have done the exact same thing Snow did with the districts. She would of reversed how everything used to be in the first hunger games movie. She would be the new President Snow, make all the people in the capitol (or whoever is left in the capitol) live in the poor rundown destroyed remains of the districts and do all the hard work everyone who lived there before used to do and make all of their children compete in the hunger games every year. Coin is dead because she is just another snow and would of repeated everything that happened from the moment Katniss won the first hunger games. Think about it, if a capitol teenager who is living in one of the districts working to support the new panem that Coin wanted then that teenager could recreate Katniss's actions and do this whole thing over. Coin was power hungry and wanted control over everything to make sure that everyone would fear her more than they feared Snow. If memory serves correctly it was Boggs who warned Katniss by telling her that Coin didn't like her, that she didn't like anybody she couldn't control and that when she no longer needs Katniss she will dispose of her in a way that doesn't seem like she is responsible at all hence the bombing of the capitol children.

Eventually she would have wanted to have games for the children of anyone who opposed her.

You are correct!
Finnick said that on camera while troop went into the building to get Peeta Johanna and Annie

Serine Majid That part got me confused too but I think I understand it: I think she killed Coin because she probably was the one who got Prim killed

No, Snow poisoned himself to draw away suspicion, later taking an antidote to heal. With the poisoning came sores in his mouth and throat which were constantly bleeding, so in the movie, it shows him spitting blood back into his glass of wine. While the wounds bled, he was continually coughing and hacking the blood up which made Katniss think he choked to death when they found him dead. If not choked to death, he was possibly trampled by the townspeople after the shooting of President Coin.

Exactly! It's also possible that the people killed him as he was already choking to death.

Katniss killed Coin because Coin became just like Snow. Katniss realized that, 1) Coin sent in the plane with the floating bombs that killed the kids, 2) Coin didn't want elections so she could rule, and 3) Coin wanted to continue the Games.

Before the beginning of this series he poisoned his family (I forgot who he specifically killed) so to evade the police he drank a little of that poison to make it look like he too was targeted. Over time that poison slowly began to kill him; it wasn't until Coin's death the poison took its full affect

Well, they did kill Haymitch's family, but not with that reason. It says in the book that Haymitch had managed to turn the force field around his arena into a weapon, which basically turned the gamemakers into a laughing stock. They didn't like this so killed Haymitch's family in revenge of what he did in the arena.

Katniss was technically mentally unstable by that point, but she only voted yes because then she would gain Coin's trust. She was then able to kill her.

Michael Katniss only killed Coin because Snow told her that Coin was the one who sent the parachutes that killed Prim. Her murder of Coin was fueled only by a huge passion for revenge for the death of Prim.

Asmita I think she realised that she herself believed President Snow was telling the truth. She realised that Snow was already a defeated man, castigated by the public as a child killer and condemned by all. He wasn't actually a threat anymore. Metaphorically speaking, he was already dead. Katniss knew that Panem under Coin wouldn't be different, it might even turn out to be more horrible. Coin was the greatest threat that she saw at that moment. She just knew that Coin did really drop the bomb that killed Prom. It dawned on her that she was lying to herself by dint of convincing herself that Coin was a better leader and Snow was a liar. It wouldn't actually profit Snow to lie to her when he was defeated.
Well, I read the series in seventh grade and that was two years ago but that's all I thought when I read the books.
