i like books that are around the same topics. stuff with magic or out of this world things. i would love to be able to keep two books at the same time straight but i can hardly keep two series at the same time straight. :) and it would be cool if i could i need to make some headway on my list.

Click on the little 'add book/author' button above the comment box when you are writing in it and type in the name of the book, then on the bottom of that box select weather you want a link to the goodreads page for the book or a picture of the cover and click add next to the book! Tada!

I liked "Ghost Knight." It was a little different from the other books Cornelia Funke has written, but I still really liked it. "Finnikin of the Rock," however, was a complete waste of time - so glad I'm not reading its sequel. The storyline itself was a good concept and I liked Evanjalin, the heroine. But Finnikin, the hero, wasn't especially likable and for some reason the Author couldn't write a single male character that was capable of making a joke that didn't have sexual meaning. There was this constant sexual undertone, and it just got REALLY annoying. And there was quite a bit of language, too.

I am liking "The Serpent's Shadow" so far - naturally; pretty hard not to, - but I don't especially care fore "Pure." I'm not attaching to any of the characters, there's lots of language, the storyline feels like it's trying to take off, but isn't, and the mutations are just grotesque. I realize that they are supposed to be, but for some reason they just don't quite feel like they fit in to the story. Hopefully I can clarify what I mean as I read further.

STILL slogging my way through

I cant wait to read serpents shadow!!!!!! It looks amazing!!!!! Also im reading a book called the selection

@Mara can't wait for those reviews! ;)

I'm almost done with "The Council of Mirrors" and "The Giant-Slayer." "The Pickwick Papers" is a chapter-a-night, and "King Henry IV, Part II" is an act-a-day. "Matched" is receiving most of my attention right now because I borrowed it from a friend who needs it back the first week of June.
@ Hazel: Riordan's books are especially entertaining for people who know a lot about myths. As for the reviews . . . I know I said I'd have them up yesterday (sorry!!!!!!), but review-writing just wasn't in me yesterday. I seriously do hope to have them written by this weekend, though *fingers crossed*

An update on

So an update on "Torrent". My misgivings weren't as bad as I thought they'd be, so I'm relieved with that though some people still needed slapping. I don't think it's quite as good as the others though, mainly because it has pretty much the same plot as the second one. I don't know how many times Gabi can get captured and Marcello has to come rescue her. I hope the stories after this don't have the same plot line because otherwise it will get a little boring. There's not enough of Luca in this one either. Not even much of Marcello. As a plus, the baddies are still terribly bad--this lady writes amazing villains. The kind that make you skin crawl!

Hazel wrote: "Well I already saw the movie, but I figured the books were better, so it did nothing to turn me off ;) I was planning on starting with those anyway. The Kane Chronicles are based of Egyptian stuff ..."
Ok so the Percy Jacksonmovie is like the opposite of the books. they are so different you cant even compare them. Book is like way better and it sets it up better for the second. when they make the second movie(which i hear that they are doing) they are going to have to make a lot of changes to the second book.
Oh and BTW Greek mythology has got to be my fave too.

Now I'm reading:

i have had books like that. where i just read and read and read. i wish i could not start to read another books but it is so hard. when i walk into a book store i am like a kid in a candy store. (Actually i get more excited about the books then almost anything else) i walk in thinking i will just look for what i need and walk out with ten more series i want to read. its hopeless! :)

And I'm seriously looking forward to hearing about "Under the Eagle." *happy dance*
I gave up on

So now I'm reading:

"Matched" continues to be good. Still in the three-star range, probably won't get four, but it's still good. This particular totalitarian regime is much more convincing that others I've read, and all of the characters are good, present-tense works, and the romance isn't annoying. And the Author is doing a good job in laying out the groundwork for Books Two and Three.
"The Springsweet" I was not expecting to like, because it is the sequel to "The Vespertine," and that's a book that did NOT need a sequel. But "The Springsweet" is told from a different character's point of view and really doesn't have a great deal to do with "The Vespertine." I would advise reading the first one first, of course, so you can understand how Zora, the heroine of this particular book, got to the emotional point that she's in. For a romance, it's good so far.

I am enjoying "Under the Eagle" so far, I like both the main characters. It does have a bit of language in it, but it's a guy book and they're soldiers so I was kind of expecting that :P One thing that makes me laugh though is that they Romans talk like British people. And I'm skeptical as to whether they called them "Civvy clothes" back in 46 AD :P Oh well, it's not really detracting from the story, I just hear them all with English accents in my head ;)

i dont think i would have the patience to order online and wait for it to come. i never really used Borders anyway cause of the prices but when they closed they had a huge sale it was amazing!

Yes, "Brotherband Chronicles" is a sequel-series to "Ranger's Apprentice." It's well worth reading, too. Flanagan's writing style has improved.
