Some of these authors... Lesigh. Using "forced seduction" as a crutch..won't save your entire book from its devastatingly, and utterly boring, plotline. I'm beginning to see a pattern where the author launches a forced-seduction scene and thereby wraps up the shock-n-awe for the reader. Incidentally, I'm not overly critical if the plotline doesn't suffer, but nevertheless, the majority I've read do suffer, after the forced seduction scene burrows itself into the storyline, and rightly proceeds to drain the life from the story in a rather parasitic fashion.

Give me the perversity-- the unquenchable agony of Stormfire and Sweet Savage Love, anyday. At least I don't feel as though the author has patted me on the head condescendingly, 'aww, you wanted extreme, there you go, sugarbreeches. Thanks for buying my new-character names-setting-rape scene installment of emotionally bereft narcissists!'

Bodice rippers with forced seduction scenes(and that's all), are really carbon-copies or a prototype of their Best Seller predecessors. The character's have mindlessly gallivanted themselves through the pages, and you can sense the pinnacle, when the forced seduction scene is over. Thanks for the quickie???

Where is the beef? The balls to the wall animosity supposedly reeking from these vengeful heroes? So wrapped up in lust, that after the first forced seduction scene, most seemingly forget all about the fact that the hero's family/father/uncle/brother deceived his own kin...and giving me the indication they're not really all that upset. Why, I believe I could concoct a better foreplay scene. I've been more angry 'bout my old feller not taking out the trash, seriously. FFS... get a grip on your undying malice and hatred to drive your point home; 'cause the only point you're driving, is the lustful aspect of the ever infamous phallic beat-stick. ;P I'm not too convinced you've been sufferin' since you were 5 years old cryin' on your mammy's skirt, when you wrap it up with gettin' your jollies off...

LMAO! I'm not really sure what your gripe is. :D That once the forced seduction is over, all the drama is gone because the H/h lose all personality?

YES.. Their unwavering revenge capsizes when they have sex. O.o Lol

I believe I'm merely seeing a distinction between real bodice rippers and the pretend ones. Like, just because it reads on the tin, 'this be a bodice ripper'..doesn't mean it actually is. XD

I know the sometimes constant hatesex cycle in the bodice rippers annoys some people, but at least all arguments aren't erased by a magical union between vag and peen, a dreamy and la-la perfect interlude that lasts until 30 pages from the end when a totally lame contrived falling-out gets wedged in so there can be some frantic tension before the inevitable groveling and ultimate sexxoring of Peace and Harmony.

I've seen that used over and over, and it annoys me. >:P

LOL oh gosh, and you know, atleast the hero in Devil's Embrace was still crazy after they had sex. He wasn't magically cured of all personality flaws with sexors. lol

The hatesex would be terrific, if the hero wasn't converted to the goodside once they actually go at it. XD
