His eyebrows pulled together. "What are you talking about?"
"Well, you can't put me in a dress in a high tower and make me a damsel in distress, either. The only thing I'm ever dependent on is my friends to help keep me sane. I've never needed anything else."
"Well, you can't put me in a dress in a high tower and make me a damsel in distress, either. The only thing I'm ever dependent on is my friends to help keep me sane. I've never needed anything else."
"The accident that I told you about wasn't an accident at all. I mean, it kind of was, but it wasn't.."
"I know that, believe me, I do. But who am I supposed to help if not you?"
"I know that, believe me, I do. But who am I supposed to help if not you?"
"Well, basically, we ran into Ed's not-so friendly vampire not-friends who later attacked Mimi and I. Ed and Peter saved us, and Mimi got injured. And when we got back, everything seemed fine, but one of them came back for Mimi. But she staked him and we don't know where the other one is," she said quickly, eyes wide.
"Ha-ha."
"Ha-ha."
He raised his eyebrows. "Why wasn't that worthy of phone conversation?"
"Seriously. And you claim to be a selfish creature."
"Seriously. And you claim to be a selfish creature."
"Hey," he murmured, kissing her cheek. "I'm not going to hold that against you."
She rolled her eyes. "Oh, yes, and you're completely superior to the rest of us. I forgot."
She rolled her eyes. "Oh, yes, and you're completely superior to the rest of us. I forgot."
"Please don't," she said, laughing a little, "I didn't want you to worry."
"That's not what I meant."
"That's not what I meant."
"I don't like it when you do."
"I'm am fine as I am. I mean, besides being alive and all," he said bitterly.
"I'm am fine as I am. I mean, besides being alive and all," he said bitterly.
"Neither do I," he sighed.
"You'd rather not be?" she asked in a low voice, looking away from him.
"You'd rather not be?" she asked in a low voice, looking away from him.
"Why do you worry?"
"Look, Mimi, there are moments when I wish I had died 100 years ago," he said with a small frown.

"Why do you think anyone worries?"
"You're going to have to give me a little more than that," she murmured. "I didn't think it went that far."
"You're going to have to give me a little more than that," she murmured. "I didn't think it went that far."
"Because they're afraid something bad will happen?"
"I don't like being a vampire, Mimi, how many times do I have to say it?"
"I don't like being a vampire, Mimi, how many times do I have to say it?"
((hello :D i've been gone for some time, it seems))
"Right, right."
"So, when I'm hunting, I am reminded of the fact that I am a vampire."
"Right, right."
"So, when I'm hunting, I am reminded of the fact that I am a vampire."
((indeed))
"Forgive me?" he asked a moment later.
"Okay, okay, I get it," she sighed. "It just... so why do you do anything?"
"Forgive me?" he asked a moment later.
"Okay, okay, I get it," she sighed. "It just... so why do you do anything?"
((i've fallen into a melancholy. dunno why. how's your life?))
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. "Thank you."
"It sometimes seems that's what you'd rather."
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. "Thank you."
"It sometimes seems that's what you'd rather."
((busy busy))
She smiled back and leaned against him. "Anytime."
He shrugged. "It doesn't seem productive."
She smiled back and leaned against him. "Anytime."
He shrugged. "It doesn't seem productive."
((fun?))
He kissed her hair. "That's a relief."
"Wouldn't it seem more productive to cure yourself of your hatred?" Peter asked, sweeping into the room.
Mimi's gaze darkened, and she didn't reply to him.

((sort of. mostly work, and then vball practice. blech))
"I'm glad," she murmured.
"It's not like you have," Edward muttered, frowning a little.
"I'm glad," she murmured.
"It's not like you have," Edward muttered, frowning a little.
((i miss volleyball))
Smiling, he gazed down at her. "Well, here I am. What are you going to do with me?"
"Hatred, me?" he asked innocently, sitting down across from the pair.

"Hatred, me?" he asked innocently, sitting down across from the pair.
((you don't play anymore?))
"I haven't figured that out yet," she laughed, looking up at him.
"It's rather deep inside of you."
"I haven't figured that out yet," she laughed, looking up at him.
"It's rather deep inside of you."
((i don't really like the way my high school does team sports))
"Ray doesn't have a plan? What has the world come to?"
"What do you know of my hatred?"
"Ray doesn't have a plan? What has the world come to?"
"What do you know of my hatred?"
((yeah. oh well. i sometimes play casually with my friends))
His eyes widened in feigned shock. "Oh no! Quick, come up with a plan!"
He laughed. "Tell me, then, what you think you know of it."

((that's what friends are good for))
She laughed. "It'll solve our Voldemort problem."
"Why should I?"
She laughed. "It'll solve our Voldemort problem."
"Why should I?"
((XD))
"Will it?"
"Because you didn't answer me outright, which means you think it'll offend me, even when I don't take offense to most everything."
"Will it?"
"Because you didn't answer me outright, which means you think it'll offend me, even when I don't take offense to most everything."
He laughed. "Mostly," he echoed, shaking his head
He sat there instead, waiting for Edward to speak up first. He could most always win these contests.

"If only it were that simple. What would be our next problem, then, do you think?"
Mimi looked between the two of them. "I don't understand what's going on."
"Your dear Edward here seems to be of the mind that I have a shortness of fondness for you humans. And that's my no-cheating guess," Peter answered tonelessly, not breaking the staring contest.

"Rebuilding the entire world?"
"It would explain why you still hang out at that ridiculous club," Edward muttered.
"It would explain why you still hang out at that ridiculous club," Edward muttered.
"Yeah, that would take a long time. We would have to repopulate it, James," she joked.
"You tell me."
"You tell me."
"I don't think so," he replied with a grin. "Mimi the ice queen and Edward the vampire don't seem like that sort of match. Cross-species and things. Wonder how they'll ever manage," he joked.
"Because I answered the first question."
"Because I answered the first question."
"Well, I guess it's up to you and me, then," she said with a shrug, grinning.
"All I'm saying is that you wouldn't be there if you didn't have some distaste to humans."
"All I'm saying is that you wouldn't be there if you didn't have some distaste to humans."
"That would take quite a while."
"It is easier to see you from here. Pardon me for not wanting to sit directly next to a couple, even if they are not so intimate."
"It is easier to see you from here. Pardon me for not wanting to sit directly next to a couple, even if they are not so intimate."
"So we're not going with that plan?"
"I thought it would be entertaining. I made a mistake, I suppose."
"I thought it would be entertaining. I made a mistake, I suppose."
"Maybe something a littler simpler."
"Are you upset with me? I haven't put your friends in danger."
"Are you upset with me? I haven't put your friends in danger."
"I don't know. I think step one would be to not blow up the world."
"So why are you directing your anger toward me?"

"Because I've always been the alpha male. That's who I am, and almost laughably, my character. It's not that easy to change, Mimi."
