"I'm going to exit and find a motel. That find with you?"
He smiled a little. "I'm glad you have such confidence in me."
He smiled a little. "I'm glad you have such confidence in me."
"Great," he said and exited the highway.
"Be here to make sure nothing happens? Isn't that what you meant?"
"Be here to make sure nothing happens? Isn't that what you meant?"
"Of course it is."
That made her laugh again. "No, not at all. Don't you have built-in detectors to avoid this kind of misinterpretation?" she asked, tapping the side of his head with a finger.

"No way it's a decent hour to sleep," he murmured, yawning again.
"It's not my fault you don't use it."
"It's not my fault you don't use it."
Tom pulled into the parking lot of a motel and cut the engine. He stepped out, whistling.
"I want you to tell me your thoughts yourself."
"I want you to tell me your thoughts yourself."
"Woah, take it easy. I need to go get a room," Tom said, walking into the reception area.
"It seems pretty obvious."
"It seems pretty obvious."
"Yeah, right," he scoffed but let it drop. He went and got them a room, swinging the key around his finger as he went back outside.
"I would think that you would want to keep some thoughts private."
"I would think that you would want to keep some thoughts private."
"Oh, good, there was a vacancy."
"Well, of course. But I thought there was something less obvious about it."
"Well, of course. But I thought there was something less obvious about it."
"Thank you Captain Obvious," he said as he unlocked the door, "Now go get some sleep."
"No, not really."
"No, not really."
"Thanks for the permission." He kicked off his shoes and fell onto the bed without bothering to even look around. "Night."
"Really? Because that would be just like you," she teased.
"Really? Because that would be just like you," she teased.
((and tom kinda just stays there. skip to next morning?))
"I'm shocked you would assume such a thing."
"I'm shocked you would assume such a thing."
((sure thing. james would be sleeping in, of course. but you knew that already :P))
"Are you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Are you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
((of course XD))
Tom was up early the next morning, brewing coffee. He glanced at James' sleeping form and shook his head. He'd wake him up eventually.
"More or less."

((XD))
James was still asleep, murmuring useless nothings and snoring every now and then.
"That's silly. What reason would you have to tell me absolutely everything, hmm?"

"That's silly. What reason would you have to tell me absolutely everything, hmm?"
"Hey, James," Tom called as he poured himself a cup, "You should wake up." He took a sip and grimaced, setting the cup down. Yep, that wasn't going to happen.
"Honesty is the best policy. Or have I been lied to?" he asked.
"Honesty is the best policy. Or have I been lied to?" he asked.
"I need you to make me decent coffee," he said, kicking the bed so that it shook a little.
"I don't believe so."
"I don't believe so."
((hahahaha))
He murmured something unintelligible and rolled over onto his other side, sighing.
"Good."

((oh, you thought that was funny. great xD))
Tom sighed in frustration and pushed James off of the bed.
"So there's your answer."

"So there's your answer."
((huzzah!))
He landed on the floor with a soft "oof!" ... And then started snoring again.
She nodded, and then gave him a short look. "Also, you're allowed to cheat every now and then, I think."

"Seriously?" Tom muttered, walking over to James. "Wake the hell up."
"You're giving me permission to read your mind?"
"You're giving me permission to read your mind?"
"What do you want?" he asked almost inaudibly, his voice distorted by the floor.
She nodded. "Good."
She nodded. "Good."
"Don't you know how to make your own coffee?" James muttered, glaring up at him out of one eye.
"Excellent."
"Excellent."
"Of course I do..usually. Now get up. You've slept too much anyway."
He leaned back against the arm rest of the couch and stared up into space, hands behind his head.

"No such thing," he murmured, curling up again.
She gave him a hug and leaned her head on his chest, closing her eyes.

"Oh, yes there is. Get up, lazy ass."
He put one arm around her, tracing lazy patterns into her side.

Tom grumbled to himself and went to pour out the previous pot. "You suck, man."
Edward turned his gaze towards her, waiting for her to fall asleep or not.

"You need to practice your coffee-making skills," he shot back, getting back into the bed. "Wake me up when you're done."
A few moments later she squeezed her eyes more tightly shut. "I can tell you're looking at me," she murmured.

He muttered someting under his breath and started making another batch of coffee.
"Yeah? My bad," he said, looking away.

He sighed and dozed off again.
She shrugged and looked up at him. "Were you planning on getting up any time soon?"
