"She tends to be scarily accurate."
She shrugged and summoned a piece of colored paper and started tearing it into strips.

"That's what I've been thinking. Maybe I should call Ray..." He looked at the clock. "Nevermind, it's late."
She smiled and put a finger to his lips to quiet him, teasing.

"Okay." He looked at his phone and hesitated a bit before dialing the number.
Eventually she started folding the strips of paper into tiny stars. On the third one, she got a confused look on her face. "Are you sure I'm okay? From the bite? Because I'm better at this in the dark." She paused. "I could have worded that better."

Tom stayed silent and kept his eyes on the road.
Ray woke up to the sound of her phone ringing, looking around bleary-eyed in search of it. She found it on her nightstand and pressed the talk button. "Hello?" she mumbled, checking to see what time it was on her bedside clock.
"You should be fine. Can I look at it?"

"Sorry I woke you," James murmured, smiling a little to hear her voice.
She turned her neck and exposed the bandage. "Go ahead."
She turned her neck and exposed the bandage. "Go ahead."
"James?" she said, suddenly awake. She sat up in her bed. "It's no big deal."
Edward hesitated, then peeled off the bandage slightly to see the bite mark.
"How do you feel?" he asked quietly, still looking at it.

"Change of plans."
"I don't know," she replied hesitantly. "A little lethargic, a little like I could do anything in the world. A little dangerous. Funny."
"I don't know," she replied hesitantly. "A little lethargic, a little like I could do anything in the world. A little dangerous. Funny."
"That's really great. Do you know when you'll be here?"
"It's probably just an effect from the shock," he said, smoothing the band-aid back on, "What are you afraid of right now? That you'll turn?"
"It's probably just an effect from the shock," he said, smoothing the band-aid back on, "What are you afraid of right now? That you'll turn?"
"Tomorrow or the next day at the latest."
She shook her head. "No, I've read enough to know I'm safe from that."
She shook her head. "No, I've read enough to know I'm safe from that."
"Um," he paused, "There's been a bit of an issue. Morgana's been following me lately."
"They're a different sort than you, aren't they?" she asked quietly.
"They're a different sort than you, aren't they?" she asked quietly.
The smile faded from her face and she didn't reply; you would've thought she hung up. She gripped the phone tightly in her hand.
"Yes, yes they are."
"Yes, yes they are."
"She wants me to come work for her again. I need to know that you're safe."
"So... from what I've also read, they can come find me because my blood's been marked, and while I'm sleeping they'll coerce me into letting them in and everything falls to shit."

"Of course I am. I told you I would stay out of trouble," she said quietly.
He took her face in his hands. "Mimi, stop worrying. These things aren't going to happen."
He took her face in his hands. "Mimi, stop worrying. These things aren't going to happen."
He breathed a sigh of relief. "Good. But if any strange animals start asking for your attention, make sure you steer clear of it. Okay?"
She bit her lip and looked up at him. "But it could. How do you know it won't happen?"
She bit her lip and looked up at him. "But it could. How do you know it won't happen?"
"I'll keep my eye out."
"I've been around vampires for the majority of my life. I've heard everything that there is," he said.

"Just tired. What about you?"
"Not at all. Just ask.." he stopped and looked around, "Are you still here, Peter?"
"Not at all. Just ask.." he stopped and looked around, "Are you still here, Peter?"
"It's not your fault. Anything new?" he asked, wanting to bring up the subject of a newcomer organically.
"About what?"
"About what?"
"No, no nothing really," she said, "I mean, we ran into Ed's friend."
"She believes she's been marked by Scott."
"She believes she's been marked by Scott."
He raised an eyebrow. "Yeah? What happened?"
"Oh, she has been."
Mimi raised her eyebrows.
"Not like that, silly. I mean, yes, he bit you, and yes, he probably wants to finish the job because there is no such thing as an unfinished job and..." he trailed off. "And it's probably not likely that he comes back because we threatened him thoroughly. So just stay close."
"I'm far from comforted."
Peter shrugged. "If you really want to be disturbed, he's probably followed the trail of blood to the apartment."
((this sounds like a plot idea))

"Um, we went to this goth bar that Ed used to go to," she told him, trying not to sound nervous.
"Peter," he hissed.
((indeed))
"Peter," he hissed.
((indeed))
"Yeah, no, it's nothing. We just ran into him and now he's sticking with us for a little bit."
"Scott's not coming back."
"Scott's not coming back."
"Yeah. He told me everything about what happened before."
"Are you trying to scare me or warn me?"
"Both," he said, "Always both. Watch your back, child."
"Are you trying to scare me or warn me?"

"It's okay," she said, leaning back against her pillows, "I really miss you, James. I know it's only been a day or two but..." she sighed.
"What do you mean 'distracted'?"
"What do you mean 'distracted'?"
He smiled a little. "I miss you, too."
He looked pointedly between the two of them on the couch. "Do I have to answer that?"

"That's good, I mean, it's not but," she sputtered, "Just come quickly, okay?"
Edward rolled his eyes and turned away from him.
Edward rolled his eyes and turned away from him.
"Great," she murmured, "'cause I'm getting lonely over here. It's awfully cold."
"Just keep walking, Peter."
((gtg soon))

((same. school in the morning. sigh))
"Well, we can't have that. I'll make sure you're nice and warm."
"You wound me."

((gross. i have a test :P))
"I'm very excited for that. Why are you up so late, anyway?"
"Bye," he said in a sing-song voice.
