"I have plenty of faith."
She opened her mouth to say something else, but he silenced her with a kiss. She clenched her eyes shut and pushed against him, to no avail.

"Oh, good."
James sighed and decided to get up and see what they were up to. "Seriously, you two, is it too much to ask that--" he stopped short when he saw them. "Guess so," he whispered.

"Did you doubt me?"
Tom pulled away and shook his head. "Listen, I believe in first dates..."
"What?" she whispered, eyes wide and mouth agape.
"Look, I..." he turned around and saw James, "Oh."

She sighed and shook her head in mock sorrow. "You know, sometimes I think you'd rather I did so you'd have a reason to be rid of us all."
He bit his lip and nodded to himself. "All right, okay," he said, feigning the casualness he knew he didn't have the ability to feel. "Good." And then he was backing out of the kitchen and grabbing his things before a second thought occurred to him.

"Ooh, I brought forth another wild emotion," she replied, grinning.
He stopped but didn't look at her. "What?" he asked, although the question wasn't in his voice. He didn't want to know.

"Good joke," he said, grinning slightly.
She let her hand drop. "You know I would never do something to hurt you, James."

"You expect me to clap for you," he said flatly, raising his eyebrows.
"Fine," she murmured, dropping her eyes.
"Fine," she murmured, dropping her eyes.
"You offered," she replied innocently.
He softened and hesitantly touched her cheek with his fingertips. "There's a lot to sort out, no matter who's fault it is," he murmured. "I won't be gone long. You can explain everything to me when I get back." And he backed towards the door again.

He opened his mouth to retort then shut it and shook his head.
"Wait, you're leaving?" she asked, her voice cracking at the end. She took a step towards him.

She grinned at his speechlessness.
"Your house isn't big enough to hold all my thoughts," he replied, trying to make an offhand joke. It didn't really work. "All I really plan to do is go for a walk. I'll be back."

"Honestly? I wanted to see how far I could take the joke. You need to work on your reading skills."
"If I'm not back by tonight, contact me and I'll let you know what's going on."
"If I'm not back by tonight, contact me and I'll let you know what's going on."
"No you don't," she replied, laughing. "Though you can if you want to."
"You'll be fine," he promised, then disappeared into the hallway.

"I'll consider it."
Tom followed after him, not forgetting to flash Ray a mischevious grin on his way out. Ray grinded her teeth, resisting the urge to throw something at him.

"Ooh, thanks."
He was halfway down the stairs before he heard footsteps a ways behind him, and didn't bother to turn around. He didn't care just yet.

"You're welcome. This way," he said, pulling on her arm as he turned the corner of the street.
Tom slid down the stair rail and landed half a flight above James. "Hey man, hold on," he called after him.

"Very nearly."
He leaned against the wall and crossed his arms. "I hope this gives you a reality check."

"All right."
"You know, I really don't feel like talking about this right now," he said, starting down the stairs again.

"What? Can't wait to see him?" he teased.
"No, you need to talk about this now," he said and followed him.
"No, you need to talk about this now," he said and followed him.
"Well?" he asked, "You didn't answer my question."
Tom halted and his mouth twitched slightly. "Yes with me."

"I just want to get this over with. You still doubt my impartial-ness, don't you?" she asked, looking up at him.
He sighed. "Fine. Talk."
He sighed. "Fine. Talk."
"He's around here somewhere," he said, looking around as they entered a park.
"I told you the same thing when we first started working. Girls are trouble; you know that."

"Aren't you a nice little GPS," she teased.
"Yeah, well, I figured I was out of trouble when I got a new job."
"Yeah, well, I figured I was out of trouble when I got a new job."
"Excellent."
((yeah, he was just hesitating))
"Well, maybe once. But I'm pretty sure it was a misunderstanding."

"There he is," Edward said, indicating to the sulky blonde sitting on a park bench not to far away.
((alright xD))
"A misunderstanding, huh?" he said and rolled his eyes.

Draco looked up when he saw them approaching and stood up quickly. "How did you two find me?"
"Easy: you smell."
"I beg your pardon?"
"So this doesn't happen again."

"He has fifteen senses; don't waste your time with offense."
James rolled his eyes. "Whatever, man, I'll deal with it on my own."
James rolled his eyes. "Whatever, man, I'll deal with it on my own."
"Fifteen, really?" Edward asked.
"What do you want?" Draco muttered.
"Alright, then, deal with it on your own. Just consider taking a break, then. Come with me for a bit."
"What do you want?" Draco muttered.
"Alright, then, deal with it on your own. Just consider taking a break, then. Come with me for a bit."
"First thing that popped into my head." She shrugged. "Come on, we should all get back to the house before the world ends or something crazy like that."
"Come with you where? I thought you were going with us to the UK?"
"Come with you where? I thought you were going with us to the UK?"
"Why should I come with you?"
"Because you'll get mugged anywhere here. You're safest with us."
Draco grumbled a response but consented.
"I never said that. I have a job coming up."

"Try it, doll face," he murmured, a grin on his face.
