"Yeah, I like to travel. And I don't always stay long."
He laughed and kissed her. "How's that?"
"Yeah, you sneak, what was that about?" she asked, pretending to be upset, but a smile broke through anyway.

"So you're staying long in New York, I assume?"
"Works for me," she said and kissed him back.
"I was afraid you'd hit me."
"Works for me," she said and kissed him back.
"I was afraid you'd hit me."
He shrugged. "Depends on what comes my way."
Murmuring his approval, he continued to kiss her.
She laughed. "Broken bones in exchange for a kiss or two? Who do you think I am?"

"Ever think of going abroad?"
She put her arms around his neck, pulling herself closer.
"A loose cannon," he teased.
She put her arms around his neck, pulling herself closer.
"A loose cannon," he teased.
"Quite a few times. I'm on a bit of a vacation from work now, and I think I'm setting up to go off to England pretty soon."
Exhaling, he moved to kiss down her jaw and on to her neck.
She gave his chest a firm poke, and even that was kind of painful. "Now that I might hit you for," she teased.

"I've never been."
Ray dug her fingers into his shoulder and brought his lips back to hers.
He smiled. "Don't say it isn't true."

He smiled. "Don't say it isn't true."
"You should go with us." Then he realized why that might be a bad idea. "Er, you might want to run it by Ray first, though."
Laughing under his breath, he obliged and kissed her deeply.
"Only on some days," she allowed.

"I don't think thats a good idea."
She bit his lip and then inhaled sharply, suddenly getting off of him and sitting on the other end of the couch. She crossed her arms and buried her face in them.
"Some," he repeated, "Right."

He shrugged. "All right, then, if you say so."
"Hey," he murmured, scooting a little closer to her, "What is it?"
She laughed. "Are you flirting with me?"
"Hey," he murmured, scooting a little closer to her, "What is it?"
She laughed. "Are you flirting with me?"
"Hmm?" he asked, turning towards her.
"Ray, don't leave me in the dark."
"Depends on what you're trying to accomplish here."
"Ray, don't leave me in the dark."
"Depends on what you're trying to accomplish here."
"Oh," he replied, nodding. "Of course."
"Just average freaking out?"
She raised an eyebrow. "I couldn't begin to guess."
"Just average freaking out?"
She raised an eyebrow. "I couldn't begin to guess."
"It makes sense that you'd be married." Didn't explain the flirting that happened a few days ago, though, but he didn't bother to bring that up.
"Okay."
"Very confident of your abilities, are you?"
"Okay."
"Very confident of your abilities, are you?"
"Does it?" ((he's obviously never seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit haha))
"I'm sorry," she repeated, "I have to stop doing this."
"Extremely."
"I'm sorry," she repeated, "I have to stop doing this."
"Extremely."
((XD exactly))
"Yep."
"Well, it's not your fault."
She laughed. "Well, then, I'm going to take a shower so my hair is clean, and then I'm going to go off to get my hair cut and you are allowed to join me," she said as she walked out of the room. "Er." She stopped and looked back at him, realizing that could be taken the wrong way. "To get my hair cut, not in the shower. If that wasn't clear." And she disappeared before he could make fun of her for that.

"I don't get that a lot."
"But it is because I get all these ideas in my head, but I know they're not true. But I still think they are and then I have to stop myself."
Edward smiled and shook his head.
"But it is because I get all these ideas in my head, but I know they're not true. But I still think they are and then I have to stop myself."
Edward smiled and shook his head.
"You'd be surprised to know how often I hear that."
"Ideas like what?" he asked gently.
And then she took the fastest shower known to humankind, despite the length of her hair. It was still dripping down her back when she decided to tie it up in a braid so it wouldn't get in her way.

"That people are married?"
"Like that your'e going to leave me."
Edward waited patiently, standing by the window and looking out across the city.

"That I tell people things they don't often hear."
"Why would I do that?" he asked, putting a hand on her shoulder.
Well, there was nothing that could be done for her hair, so it was just going to have to drip around after her and onto her clothes. Besides, walking outside ought to dry it out in no time. A few moments later she walked back out, steam following her from the bathroom. "Okay, let's go."

"Ah."
"You'll come to your senses?" she said, taking deep breaths.
"That was fast," he said, looking over at her. The light from the window was making his skin shimmer a bit.

"Yeah."
"What senses?" he asked, teasing.
She shrugged. "Eager to get rid of this stuff," she said, yanking on the bottom of the braid.
"What senses?" he asked, teasing.

"Is that a gift you have?"
"I'm being serious, James," she said miserably.
"Are you chopping it all off?"
"I'm being serious, James," she said miserably.
"Are you chopping it all off?"
He laughed. "Something like that."
James sighed and pulled her into a hug. "You know I love you," he said. "What business do I have leaving? I'm not going to pull an Edward."
"Nearly," she replied. "I don't know yet."

She smiled a little. "Interesting."
"You'd go back to that girl in Chicago," she muttered.
"Guess we'll see, huh?"
"You'd go back to that girl in Chicago," she muttered.
"Guess we'll see, huh?"
((what girl in chicago?))
"Thanks," he murmured, smiling back.
"What makes you think that?"
"Yeah, that. Ready to go?" she asked, slipping her shoes on, "Or are you sticking around here?"
"Thanks," he murmured, smiling back.
"What makes you think that?"
"Yeah, that. Ready to go?" she asked, slipping her shoes on, "Or are you sticking around here?"
((a while ago they went to chicago, and james and ray went to some diner place, and then when james went to the bathroom or something the girl told her that she was james' ex-girlfriend and that her really only liked her and they would get back together, so ray got all upset))
((okay, i got nothing for these two))
"I..I don't know," she sighed, leaning against him.
"I'm always ready."
((okay, i got nothing for these two))
"I..I don't know," she sighed, leaning against him.
"I'm always ready."
((i don't remember that))
((yeah, neither do i.))
"I wouldn't dream of such a thing," he assured her, kissing the top of her head.
"What's that supposed to mean?" she asked, smirking at him over her shoulder as she headed for the door.

((that would explain it))
((eh, it's fine. no sporadic romance XD))
"I promise."
"I hope you know where a hair cutting place is around here, because I sure don't."
((it's new york. there should definitely be squealing fangirls somewhere in here. hahahaha))

((nope, i've made my decision xD))
"Thanks."
"There should be one around here somewhere."
((dont worry, there will be. and creepy new york vampires to boot. but maybe they'll show up when everyone gets together xD))

"We'll live."
"No, probably not. Does it help to know that people are okay with your sparkling?" she teased.
"No, probably not. Does it help to know that people are okay with your sparkling?" she teased.
"I believe you."
He pulled her into a side street just as a group of tweens was walking by. "You don't have to deal with fangirls," he told her.

"When am I going to meet your family?"
"Isn't your life great?" he teased and checked to see if it was safe. He venutred out once the coast was clear. "Let's go."

He laughed. "You want to?"
"The greatest," she replied. "What happens when you're cornered in a public building?"

"You don't have to if you don't want to."
"You're going to leave me in a hair salon all by myself?" she asked, pretending to be offended.

"I've already been forward enough. It's your turn."
"Well, after running off like that last night, maybe," he said quietly.
