Some crashes and loud noises came from behind the trees and bushes that he couldn't see behind. Quinn growled and pulled the little boy into his chest, holding him tight.
"Let go of the boy, Quinn." A man called behind him and he didn't look.

The boy struggled in his arms. "Dadda wans me, dadda wans me."

"But is it really a lie? Before our last Rager left this earth, she told us who this boy really belonged to." The words were compelling him to believe him.
"She never would have done anything with any other man! She was true and chaste and loved me for who I am!" He didn't mention that she had even imprinted on him. Eveything had gone wrong since this new Rager had come.

Quinn fell to his knees on the flat rock and gasped for air. "You can't take him from me! He's all I have left!"
"Yes. But I'm going to end that now." A different hand, probably one of the wolves he had turned, pushed him flat on his face and he felt a sharp pain enter his back. "Really, for all the trouble you're worth, I should just kill you know, but I'm feeling merciful today." The pain increased and he let out a scream.
