"Riley!" an anxious-looking Ollie called, running up to his Alpha.
"Hi...what's wrong?"
"I ran out of cheese."
"Again?"
"Sorry!"
"Your rat will have obesity problems," Riley warned him.
"Is that really bad?"
"Yeah."
"Oh. Well, I promise I'll feed him less!"
"Pinky-swear?"
"Yeah!"
They pinky-swore, and then Riley left for the town to go get cheese.

Crys wondered how long she'd be allowed to stay in the hotel. Not much longer for sure - Riley could keep paying, but that would be unfair. She'd leave tomorrow morning, she decided. In the meantime, she'd go to the grocery store to stock up on food for that night and next morning.

A bit later....

Riley was looking around the dairy section, trying to remember what cheese the rat had refused to eat once and silently cursing himself for allowing Ollie to keep it when he noticed an all-too-familiar smell. The source turned and walked away as soon as she noticed him, but that didn't matter. Grinning to himself now, Riley grabbed some random cheese and followed her to the cashiers.
"That'll be $21.76," the cashier told Crys.
"I'll pay for it," Riley cut in quickly. "This as well," he added, pushing the cheese over.
Crys scowled at him, but nodded at the cashier, allowing him to pay.
"Would you like these in two separate bags?"
"Yes," Crys told her, but did not succeed in escaping at that, as Riley quickly took both and walked out of the store. She rolled her eyes and followed.
As soon as they were out, Riley sped up, almost to a jog at times, until they reached the forest, where he ran for a couple minutes, then waited for her to catch up, still smiling to himself.

"Riley, wait!" Crys caught up. "Give me my stuff at least!"
"Never!" He ran away again, running into Ollie after a while. "Here's the cheese," he told him, tossing it over, then running away again.
Ollie was a bit confused at the rush, so started to follow, but stopped when he saw Crys.
"Ollie, have you seen Riley?"
"Yeah, he went there...."
