Quinn walked outside and smelled the air. He thought it was really clear, due to the fact that he had been stuck inside for so long.

Quinn decided to go on a walk, as it was such a beautiful day. He set off into the wood with a yawn, loving the feel of the forest air on his skin. He hadn't gone far when he saw a figure ahead of him. He stepped closer and squinted. When he identified who it was, he growled.
"Riley. What are you doing here?"

"Don't remind me." Quinn shoved his thumbs into his pockets. It was silent between the two and Quinn could hear Riley's music playing on his iPod. "So what are you doing?"

"Waiting. Oh, never mind, now I'm not," he said as Crys showed up. "Hey," he said, giving her a hug.

Quinn huffed and turned away, confused and angry. He stormed off with the mind to find Meadow, wherever she may be.

"He used to date Meadow. He's constantly pissed at me for no reason."

Meadow was sitting in a tree by the lake, watching the small waves.

Quinn moved on, shoving through bushes and around trees. He felt the temperature change as he neared the lake. Wanting to let off steam, he went to the lake to skip stones. He walked up to the water's edge and threw in a stone, sending up a satisfying splash.

"Quinn?" Meadow jumped down and walked over to him.

Quinn turned and his anger dissipated. "Meadow!" He jumped to her side and gave her a tight hug.

Meadow took a lot of steps back, making him let go of her and creating a bit of a distance. "Hi." There were circles under her eyes and her cheeks were becoming gaunt.

Quinn finally took a good look at her. He reached out to stroke her cheek. "Meadow? What happened?" He thought of Riley with his new girl and growled. "It's Riley again, isn't it?"

She took a few more steps back. "He can decide who he dates."

His hand dropped to his side. "You're hurting. Please tell me how I can help you."

Quinn worried. "Please, Meadow. Let me in."

Quinn just looked at her. "Fine." He stooped over to pick up a stone, skipping it over the water.

Quinn skipped several more, unsure of what to do. He looked down at Meadow and gave her a small smile, though his eyes remained sad.

She wasn't looking at him. After a while, though, she skipped a stone as well. It crashed into Quinn's and they both sank.

Quinn chuckled, "Did you see that. Neat." He squatted in front of her, looking into her eyes. "Feeling better?"

She scooted back and looked back, her expression unchanging.

Quinn stood up straight and growled. "That son of a--Well, he probably was. I'm going to kill him." Quinn started off, hitching up his pants.

"Quinn, stop. What the fuck are you going to do?" Meadow's voice was suddenly hard.

"Don't mess with me, Meadow." Meadow's tone set off Quinn's anger. "I know that every time he spurns you, you get hurt more and more. Can't you see that? He doesn't really care about you. Who does? Who?" He jabbed his pointer finger into his chest. "I do!"

"I don't care if he doesn't feel the same; I won't give up on him. My well-being none of your business now, anyway."

Quinn felt as though Meadow had cut his heart to pieces. He closed his eyes, his fists shaking with rage. "Fine. I see how it's going to be." He opened his eyes to glare down at her. "I don't know what I've been chasing after all this time. I always knew, down in my soul, that you never would love me. But this time," his breath hitched. "This time, I'm through with you. Goodbye, Meadow." He turned tail and walked away into the trees.

Riley was for some reason not with Crys again and in Quinn's general way...except far away enough so that when Quinn reached him, Meadow would be out of earshot.

Quinn was stomping back to his home, planning on letting out his rage through cooking. He was sure his mom would like to have some chocolate bundt cake. He continued on before suddenly bumping into Riley.
"Oh, perfect timing."

Quinn snatched Riley's shirt in his fist. It wasn't terribly frightening, as Quinn was shorter than Riley, and not so muscular. "Why the hell do you have to ruin Meadow's life so much?"
