This time, Riley managed to get through everything without getting killed, mostly because there was nothing to get through. Also, he now knew where he was going, which was quite helpful. "Seth," he murmured as he found him.
Seth jumped slightly, his eyes widening. "You died. I saw you!"
Riley smiled slightly. "Came back from the dead just to get you anyway."
"Get me?" Seth backed away quickly. He wouldn't mind a human Riley, but a ghost....
"You set Crys up."
"She deserved to die," Seth growled, suddenly angry. "She was making you soft, you, and you were a cold-blooded killer...the perfect weapon, fast and uncaring, but then she came along and ruined you!"
Riley snarled. "I hate you," he said, every word cold and distinct, taking a step forward.
Seth looked at him. "You wouldn't kill me."
Riley pointed his gun at him silently, watching Seth's expression.
Seth didn't move. "We were friends, Riley. I only did what friends do...I helped you."
"You killed my girlfriend!"
"Because she ruined you. Even now, it shows. The old Riley would have killed me by now," Seth said almost mournfully.
"You want me to kill you?"
"I don't care. Riley is dead, and you are a shell, just a painful reminder of what you could have been."
"A life of killing people mercilessly? What life would that be, Seth?" Riley murmured.
"There's more to it than that. You know. You knew...."
Riley watched him cautiously for a few more seconds, then put the gun away. "I can't kill you," he told him, then turned away.
