Before leaving, Luis backtracked and stared at the headless corpse of his brother. He fetched the head with some disgust and placed in on Vincent's chest. He then lit a match and threw it onto the body, watching the fire lick Vincent's flesh. A foul smell rose from it and bile rose up in Luis' throat. Luis kneeled down by the fire and plucked something from Vincent's throat, his hand lingering in the fire, feeling a tingling warmth on his skin. He took his hand out, which was clutching a golden amulet. He placed it in his pocket, then walked away, the image of his brother's corpse etched forever into his memory.
