Obama is going to do a lot to make green energy more widespread than consumable resources. He is considering including as much as $25 billion of energy tax credits in the economic stimulus package to try to encourage renewable energy projects, fuel-efficient cars and biodiesel production. This includes a two-year, $8.6 billion extension of the production tax credit for renewable energy, which would strengthen wind power projects. He is also considering tax credits for service stations that install high-ethanol-content fuel pumps, a $7,500 tax credit for plug-in vehicles, an extension of the biodiesel credit, and one for coal-fired power plants that capture more than half of the carbon they let out or that could be changed to do that later. The National Clean Energy Lending Authority may also get as much as $10-20 billion.
I think that it’s good that our future president is for enviro-friendly projects and businesses. It’s good that he is encouraging more businesses to be green. I must say that this seems a little hard on the tax-payers, though.))
