she rolled her eyes. "ugh, nevermind. youre no help at all."
the bus stopped. "nevermind," fred told her. "this is your stop."
maria shook her head. "nevermind, i want to go back home."

"nothing is easy to explain." callie muttered.
fred shrugged and kept driving.
maria sank back into the seat and leaned her head against the window, staring off into space.

((dang, too bad rachel isn't here so that riley could hear this..)
"Ray's my best friend, but she's in love with Riley, but I'm in love with her. It's kind of hard to switch who your love interest is, even if the future predicts it." he sighed.

adrianne sighed. "sorry,"
"okay here ya go, kid." fred called to maria, who was practically half asleep with her eyes open.
she sat up slowly and blinked a few times. "eh, thanks fred."
"and time kid," he said, smiling. "you be careful out there, hear?"
"always," she called over her shoulder as she stepped off the bus and began walking home.

maria walked in, kicking off her shoes unceremoniously. she sank onto the couch and put her head in her hands, sighing.
Luis heard Maria walk in, but didn't look up.

maria sighed and started fidgeting with the single braid in the back of her hair among all the loose strands.

Luis bit his lip and stood up, then walked over to Maria, sitting down next to her.
"Hey." he murmured quietly, "You okay?"
"Hey." he murmured quietly, "You okay?"
she gasped in surprise and looked up at him. "that depends," she said. "whats your definition of 'okay'?"
"optimism? whats that?" she asked, laughing without humor. "no, i just figure that theres no use lingering on things that happened in the past because the present is moving too fast to allow time for that kind of thinking. if you take that as optimism, then so be it."
((lolz i know))
she sighed. "what would you do if everything you had believed in as a child and still now had been uprotted and proved false?"
