Lila continued to run. When she got closer, she saw that the person running away had a book just like the one Callie had described. But then, the next thing she knew, Lila couldn't find the person with the book anymore. Lila began to look for Callie to tell her the new development.

Riley pulled her through the labyrinth-like rooms. It would be easy to go through them if you could see. As you couldn't, that was a problem if you didn't have a guide. Riley knew the place inside out.

Rayana's eyes easily adjusted to the dark. Being in Scorpius' lair in the dark all the time helped improve that skill. Her heart ached when she remembered, but quickly pushed the thought out of her head.
