Chris leaned his elbows on his knees and sighed. Another memory hit him.
Chris loomed over the near dead body of Rayana, blood dripping from his fangs. Rayana phased back into a human and looked up at him helplessly, her eyes wide with fear. Chris snarled.
"Killing you will be easy; just like killing your mother." he snarled and Rayana flinched. He raised a paw, ready to deliver the killing blow. Just as his paw came down, he was knocked off of Rayana and to the side. He jumped up quickly and faced whoever just attacked him, growling.

A pitch black wolf stood protectively beside Rayana, teeth bared. A howl erupted from his throat and Chris snarled.
"What're you doing here?" Chris asked, hiding the surprise in his voice. Luis raised his head and his eyes flashed with anger.
"You know very well why I'm here." Luis growled. Chris snickered.
"You know it's already too late for her." he said, jerking his head in Rayana's direction. Her eyes were closed in pain and her hand clutched her side, blood seeping through her fingers.

Luis glanced at her worriedly, then look back at Chris. He growled.
"How could you do this?"
"I need to. So I can become Alpha." Chris growled back.
"It's all about the pride, then, right?" Luis asked, anger and disbelief mixed together in his tone. Chris didn't reply. Rayana let out a quiet moan and she coughed up some blood. She cracked open her eyes and looked at Luis, then Chris. Chris refused to look at her; all that innocence showing in her eyes was too much. Chris faltered, then sprinted off.

Chris, having finally escaped the memory, sighed and put his face in his hands.
