George III (glc3) | 33 comments Freebies can be of use.

I write short stories no more than 8-10 pages pertaining to my book and offer those for free. I make sure to include a link to the book on Amazon. If people like the short story they buy the book.

I did this early on this month. It's worked very well for me so far.

Armand Rosamilia (armandrosamilia) | 24 comments I've done this as well, and you're absolutely right! A short story or two followed by a five preview chapters of the book gets the sales up.

George, that sounds like a fine idea; where do you offer them? How do you have readers find your free shorts?

George III (glc3) | 33 comments I use Amazon KDP. You can offer a free story as a download for 5 days every 90 days.

Bryn Hammond (brynhammond) Thanks George. I didn't know that.

Rob Osterman (robosterman) | 168 comments Can't you also offer them as very very low cost? Say $0.99?

I've been posting them to my website as I've written them, though so far none of them are very good teasers for my next major writing project. Yet.
