Will,
I think it's sort of funny that I almost told you how much I liked the (old) masthead! It got my attention enough to want to read about the group and then join. Hmm...

well, we didn't HAVE a masthead, actually. GR just added those this week. If you mean the logo, I can easily switch it back. Anybody else want to chime in? Or offer a new design? Like I said, just trying stuff out.

Will,
I had a feeling I wasn't using proper terminology. Oh,well. Of course, I meant the logo. Thanks.

well, nobody else has said anything other than you for a few days, so that's 0-1 against the new logo...I'll switch it back.Still, I'd enjoy some more options and feedback from others, including submissions for new logo and/or masthead.

Hi Will,
The logo you chose is pretty. That said,I'd suggest something else, but I don't know how to proceed with choosing and submitting. I've not done it before. I don't even know how to get an avatar for my profile! Thanks.

Will wrote: "which, the books, or the one I had before that, Varo's painting of a woman feeding a moon?"I personally like both, but I really loved the Varo painting. (I'm a Leonora Carrington fan, and an appreciation of Varo follows.)
Will,
I like the masthead very much! (I'm getting the terms correct. No?) I also like the logo you chose, more so now, since you explained it to me! ( I wasn't wearing my readers before.)

oh, nice! I can't get at the varo painting til later (on a different system) today, but when I get to it, I'll update again. The masthead is from my local library, I set up a small camera (amateur yet devoted photographer) in the stacks, with the angles of them in mind, when a girl walks into frame, perfectly circled by a beam of light. What else could I do but take the shot?

Nicely done!

I wasn't sure where to put this comment, so put it here (forgive me if it seems out of place). This is something that I've experienced that I am willing to bet others are experiencing as well and wondered if there was some way to fix it -
When I receive my email updates for group discussions, the headings there show Group Name > Topic > (here is where it says Spoilers or No Spoilers Allowed)
Most of the headings in the email update cut off the "Spoilers or No Spoilers Allowed" language so I find myself reading the brief update before I realize it has just been spoiled. Ugh.
As avid readers, I'm sure you can appreciate that sickening feeling you get when you've mistakenly read the ending to a book you were looking forward to savoring.
Anyway, I just wanted to alert you to this if there's anything at all you can do.
Your administration and group discussions are so very much appreciated.
Well, we can't change the way goodreads addresses it's emails. If you jump to a link, you can always look at the top of the discussion it takes you to check the full header. Lately, when I lead a discussion, I don't open all the threads at once. For example, I only have threads on the first two chapters of
, so you will be unable to get spoiled about the ending until much closer to november. But really, you'll have to be careful since only goodreads can control the email notifers, it's set up in your personal settings, and we cannot control what's in them, or when you get it. You can always unsubscribe from a thread so you won't get notifiers for THAT thread though, check in your personal settings to see if there's a better setting for you. Mine, I keep set to notify me of all threads ONCE unless I check it, so if it's a new thing, it sends me a notice, but if I deliberately do not check that thread, it won't continue to send me new ones.

If somebody wants to make some better ones, I'm not exactly stricken with adoration of my efforts, and would be willing to consider others.
