Please check out my profile on the site, visit my blog at www.jadedelegance.net, and drop me a PM if you're interested in possibly working together in the future. :)

Synopsis:
In post Peak-Oil Vancouver, the world of bookish community college instructor Richard Hampton is blown apart when his younger brother Danny disappears and the police are too busy keeping a lid on a hungry, overcrowded city to search for him. Richard must make the transformation to street-smart warrior to survive when he jumps the Food Train to the disintegrating suburbs in a desperate search for Danny and his dog, Zonk. Branded a criminal by a community of outcasts, imprisoned, and condemned to death, Richard is rescued by streetwise Carrie, who joins in his search. They trek across the remnants of the sprawling suburbs, facing criminal gangs, renegade militias, and the hardships of the road. Gradually their friendship evolves into something more. The trail finally unwinds at a deserted complex in the remotest corner of the suburbs. What they discover there will alter their lives and their world forever.

message 120: by Andy (new)

Andy Elliott | 5 comments I'm always happy to chat and am willing to offer review copies of my book, The Remarkables.

Owen Johnson’s day was progressing just like it did for most other teenagers. By lunchtime he had climbed a tall building using abilities usually reserved for superheroes; he’d flirted with the girl he had secretly adored for years; he’d come home to find his dad had been kidnapped and a mysterious stranger standing in his living room; and finally he’d been rescued by the elderly woman next door who had suddenly revealed that she had the power to launch people through the air.

"Reaching Out" introduces Owen Johnson to the world of The Remarkables, a group of seemingly ageless war heroes, each possessing unique gifts that had been used to fight evil. Now they must help Owen find his dad, and uncover a new threat to our way of life. Along their journey Owen slowly starts to learn the secrets of his past, and uncovers surprising truths about himself and those that he thought he knew: some of which he is glad to learn, some he may wish he hadn’t.

Just message me your email address and I'll send you a Kindle e-gift thingy.

Andy

Rebecca Anderson (beccainman13) Hey Bloggers! My book isn't available to be reviewed yet (Boooo!) But I'd love to do interviews with you guys to get the word about The Blue-Eyed General out there :D

First and foremost, it's a YA fantasy adventure, and here's the exciting synopsis! Oooooo...

"Jed’s dead. These are the words that transform seventeen year old Cecelia Rivermire’s quiet life into a manhunt. A manhunt to kill the man that murdered her only friend. A manhunt to kill the man that murdered her first love. In this quest for revenge, however, she’ll soon discover that everything she’s ever known has been a lie, including everything she thinks she knows about herself…

Set in a world where a dictator’s word is gospel, rebellion looms, and science and superstition collide with devastating consequences, The Blue-Eyed General follows Cecelia as she strives for her vengeance. Though the man she hunts is an extremely illusive figure, and she finds herself hunted by her own tyrannical Emperor, she’s confident that taking her revenge should be easy. After all, she’s no ordinary girl. With incredible strength, speed, and otherworldly blue eyes, she’s a beautiful enigma; but none of that can protect her from the terrifying places that her journey will take her to, and nothing on Gaia can prepare her for the horrible truths that she’ll learn about herself. By the time she’s done, Cecelia will wish that she’d left the past undisturbed.

With tensions and treason, madness and murder, romance and revelation, for the blue-eyed general, revenge really is only the beginning…"

If you're interested in the book, it can be found on goodreads The Blue-Eyed General by Rebecca Inman

My new release, The Last Alive by H.L. Wampler , was released from Rebel Ink Press, Llc on Sept. 3.

Emma Taylor does all three in the same week.

Nathan Ricks is the only doctor left in Fort Burgh and Emma is in love with him. She refuses to admit it until he goes missing. Alayna-Renee (princessalayna) | 18 comments Hello everyone!

Some of you may have seen my face around the boards, but I suspect I am new to many of you!!:)

My name is Alayna, and I am the voice behind a long-running, high-profile personal blog entitled "Jaded Elegance". I'm a slightly snarky author, blogger, and essayist who published a debut book at the end of 2012. It's a collection of poetry entitled "Ophelia's Wayward Muse".

I'm fairly well-known in the blogging world, and have an audience of over 200,000 monthly readers at present. I am also a regular contributor to other projects. I'd like to expand my audience, and one feature that's been quite successful for me is something I host each Sunday called "Literary Libations". I either conduct an interview with or post a guest post by an emerging independent writer or blogger. I cover all genres, and aim to chat with those from all genres and walks of life.

I've had to take a break from these interviews over the summer, but I am now looking to line up interviews/guest posts for October, November, and December. I am open to hearing from a wide variety of people, but I'm most interested in collaborating with other authors and bloggers who may wish to do an interview/guest post swap (thereby maximizing visibility for both of us.) It is a wonderful way to get some exposure, especially if your target audience is my average reader (I seem to largely attract an educated, slightly disenchanted Gen-Y fan base from largely the US, UK, and Australia.)

If you are interested, please check out my website at jadedelegance.net, and e-mail me privately at ladyguenevere@gmail.com to discuss. I've really loved hosting authors on my blog in the past, even though it is not my primary focus, and it is truly a win-win for all.

Cheers,
*~ Alayna

Josh Mitchell (wickid_pissa) | 15 comments I love meeting and talking books with avid bibliophiles.

My new novel "The Dude Who Did Dictionaries" is now available on Amazon via Kindle Direct as a KDP Selection - www.amazon.com/dp/B00M0DUI8Y

Frank Flutie is a lexicographer who has waged war on the "perils of adultolescence" by leaving a high-paying job as a copywriter for an advertising company called The Banker and taking a low-paying job in a bookstore instead, ostensibly so he can write the first ever all sexual dictionary.

The "war" (and his dictionary), however, aren't going particularly well and, under the stress of his "self-imposed exile" from affluence, Frank has become petty and fatalistic -- "a shit hoarder whose dictionary would be better utilized as a flyswatter, a doorstop, or a paperweight".

Always broke, but too proud to accept charity, he rarely sees his few friends and cannot get the virginal Marlene in bed because (or so he believes), "If you got no dough, no woman will love you."

On the mantle in Frank's shabby apartment is a sickly but unkillable pet sea lamprey -- a jawless fish he abhors as the banner of the sort of "clockwork universe" he is fleeing from in his downward spiral.

In the course of his misadventures, we become grindingly aware that his radical solution to the problem of the money-world is no solution at all -- that in his desperate reaction against a monstrous system, he has become something of a monster himself.

"The Dude Who Did Dictionaries" is a behemoth valentine to Boston and a gritty, sprawling, depiction of today's recession-inflicted state of affairs.

Snow Tales and Powder Trails Adventures on Skis by Steve Baldwin

"Snow Tales and Powder Trails" is a collection of short stories and photographs, telling of a lifetime journey through snowy lands and mountains, using skis as a mode of transport and artistic medium.

The experiences of the author come to life on the page, mirrored by images of stunning snow-covered peaks and landscapes. Using vast untracked snowfields as a blank canvas, the author draws line after line with his skis, etching his signature temporarily into the earth's surface, only for the next snowstorm to come in and cover any trace of human existence.

The book explores some of the different aspects of skiing, mostly in deep fresh powder, and illustrates the adventures and elation that the mountains in winter can offer.
