You definitely succeeded:) I've known since I learned to read that I loved it and could never get enough of it, joining this group has given me a deeper love and understanding of books. I love all the amazing people, and am really glad I got to know them, and I always have so much fun. Thank you Booknut!

What on earth has been hapening today whilst i have been out??!! As an English student i am trying to (cliche) 'live the dream' and fulfil it by working towards an English Based car..."
I think it's great that you are pursuing an English based career! I am not 100 percent sure what I want to do with my life yet, as I am still in HS, but an English based career is definitely pretty high up on my list of maybes.
And same here. No one in my house enjoys reading. I am the only one in my family, which makes me really sad, because I can't share reading with them. It makes it hard to connect to my family because they don't understand the thing that means the most to me. So thank you for letting me go on and on about the most important thing in my life:)

*laughs* I know! I don't know how this happened!!:D But I think this calls for a ...VIRTUAL GROUP HUG!!!:D"

Here's my confession:
I had a random fact phase and when my cousin was grossed out by germs I told her that there were over 3000 bacterias on her RIGHT NOW.
She looked horrified.... Which was my goal anyway... ;P

Haha Sometimes I think we are all related. I mean, how could we not be with all the similarities?
And that sounds awesome. I wish I was there for that!

*laughs and gives you a virtual hug* I feel like I'm so close to all of you! Its so true...we don't mean to come across as weird, or just plain 'nerdish' (gosh, I hate that word!) - we're just being ourselves, fuelled on by an appreciation of books and of these fantastic stories that stick with us.
I think it takes alot of strength to talk about something you love. I mean, anyone can be part of the herd and go "Yeah, I love Justin Bieber too! Oh, and I hardly ever, like, read BOOKs - like, why would I, like, do that?!" It takes a unique person to say "No, I don't like the same things you do, and I do like to read. Reading is great. Books are great." I mean - look how talented bookworms are!!
- We can recite quotes offhand
- We can memorise different worlds and their societies (e.g. How to play Quidditch, The types of elves or demons, the different towns in Middle Earth, etc.)
- We can gain happiness or relax by reading - simple!
- We get to experience a range of emotions simply by reading
- We connect with others through our love of books
- Books smell nice
- We find cool bits of useful information (e.g. I once found out from reading a fictional book about a girl that could see the dead that a guy who made perfumes made it through the Titanic incident and survived but his perfume samples were lost. They found them again, perfectly preserved when they were searching the wreck, and they were stoppered so he had them returned to him! True story!!)
I think we all ARE related. Kindred spirits, people who like the same things and have this sense of deja vu when they read about other people's lives and experience - we're all connect to eachother somehow. I don't know how! But we are. :D
Hugs all around!

Yes! I agree completely. My mom tells me that I get "to wrapped up in reading and need to keep one foot in reality." I recently started watching FullMetal Alchemist, which is an amazing anime show and I love it. My mom has actually told me not to watch it because she does not want me to get wrapped up in, and I quote, "a cartoon!"
Yes, I do tend to get wrapped up in fantasy, but can you blame me? What's wrong with it if it's the only thing keeping me sane?!?! I can't live without it. I think a big dose of reality might actually kill me.

My mind is just constantly on overdrive, with usually about ten stories in my head right now that i could sit down and write all at once...the only trouble is getting it onto paper in time & not in a complete mess :)
It makes you wonder at times those people who do not read or who don't read much how thier minds differ, and thier views on the outside world differ?? x
Sometimes when I read an epic as book I love it so much that I practically create my own character and then just spend most of my day daydreaming about what my character would do and be like in the story

I do the same thing!
I don't understand how any one who doesn't read manages to stay sane...

I do that as well and I would die if I couldn't read!!!!
I love you all too!

If I didn't have books I don't know what i would do with myself!
:)

Same!
Thank thank thank you for your heartwarming comments! If anything, if this group is really that awesome, it's all thanks to you guys! My goal was simply to bring together those who loved books - meeting all you wonderful people and having so many laughs and new ideas sprout up has been an added bonus and a welcome one!! It is so wonderful to get to discuss, chat and obsess alongside all of you - and I'm so glad you're enjoying being apart of it all! Because, at the end of the day, if you all fall just a little more in love with books, I'll be content!!
