What is this card for??? My neice has a Nook Color and my sister in law has the Nook Tablet, maybe they should have this???
I got it and am in love. It let's you have the ability to turn the Nook color and tablet into Android tablets. I known have the kindle and nook app on my color so can buy from both now and nor have to convert files.
I did this to my nook color about 6 months ago and love it. I have a 16 gig card. You put the card in and switch back and forth from the stock Nook color to an android tablet.I have had very few problems with it. The good thing is, you do not void your warranty. I have lots of apps downloaded to it from the android marketplace as well as the kindle app.
does this help with internet access? I have found I can't "shop" on my tablet due to lack of internet access and this bothers me.
You can also purchase them on Amazon. And no it wouldn't help with internet access. If you have wi-fi connectivity, then you can only shop if you connected by wi-fi. The card has nothing to do with that. It provides an android operating system on a micro sd card that you can put in the card slot in your nook color or nook tablet. You then have access to many more apps in the android marketplace. I am not familiar with the nook tablet, so I'm not sure what you have available with it.
Why is it that I could shop anywhere at anytime with my simple touch and can 't with my tablet? I have been frustrated several times with my inability to access internet when away from my wi-fi
Your simple touch is probably/possibly 3G and your nook tablet is wi-fi. If you are away from a wi-fi connection, there is no way to access the internet. Lots of places have free wi-fi now. Starbucks, McD's, B&N, hotels, etc.
I have an 8GB tablet. From what I understand you put the card in and reboot the NT and it comes up running the android OS. Does the android OS write anything on the storage that the B&N nook uses or is it all on the SD card?
I'm pretty sure it's all on the SD card. I asked my husband who installed it and is a computer engineer. And he agreed.
I have had my N2A card for my Nook color for almost a year now and love it. I now have full tablet capability. I even have a keyboard attached. I have been able to do almost everything on my Nook that I can do on my computer. And the N2A card is a duel boot system, so I can boot into the stock Nook OS if I want to. It's great.
I have also had an SD card with android system for about 9-10 months and absolutely love it. I've never attached a keyboard however! You boot up the Android OS by depressing the power key and holding it down. It then accesses the SD card. It will then boot into tablet mode. Like Peggy said, because it is dual boot, it does not violate the warranty. Best thing I ever did.

Does it use the books that you already have on the machine?
