Mermarie, could you explain what the differences between these Zebra series are? I don't think they were published here so I don't know them! But the covers are so pretty, that alone is reason enough to pick some of them up.

There's not a great deal of difference, really. A different symbol on the cover, for the most part, although the Lovegram's in later years were a great deal more PC than their former years, or compared to Heartfire's in general.

Magic Embrace by Jennifer Horsman was pretty good. A lot of tropes, but definitely worth the read, in a "Zebra" sense.

I do love Openlibrary....I have found tons of fantastic reads, especially with all the Zebra books.

I have never heard of Zebra publisher romances. Why do people love them? How do they differ from other romances? Perhaps I'll check them out.

Well, I don't know why others do, but for me -- Zebra ( of the Lovegram & Heartfire variation) provided a little extra kick than your typical Historical Romance. There was always potential for Bodice Rippery and great writing. Even some of the worse ones are rarely below a 3 star scale, IMHO. Also, the covers are some of the most beautiful artwork in their time, I believe.

Well said Mermarie! I collect Zebra Historical Romance Novels mainly because of the covers. The stories always have more depth than the usual historical romance.

There are a few legendary models & artists who've done some of their most memorable work through Zebra, I believe. The Zebras with the most potential are the earlier written ones. 1987-ish, etc, because you'll notice the oldschool BR Zebra(non-series) one year, and the next few years, a Zebra Heartfire & Lovegram sticker. It's the same material & product, jus' new packaging, IMHO. :D
