Don't worry I don't go on vacation until July. Although I might not be on very much towards the end of June as my sister is having a baby and I am going to help out.

message 157: by Haley (new)

Haley The Lake of the Ozarks is one of my favorite places in the world! The lake house is like my second home.

I really enjoyed The Phantom of the Opera. I'm sure whenever you get the chance to read it that you'll like it.

Sara Nowlin-Edens (sara1955) | 139 comments I have to tell y'all something exciting that's happening in my life (and Rebecca's life!). As of June 1, we're in publishing! Yep, we're going to be the makers of books. Not only will we read and write them, we get to make them. I'm so excited.

Of course, on June 4 I start back to classes, taking 15 hours, so it's going to be a balancing act. If anyone sees a brain wondering around lost, it will probably be mine :)

message 164: by [deleted user] (new)

Glad to be back. ;) Thanks, guys.

That's wonderful, Sara!

Sara and I are always getting involved in something fun. We're already getting good feedback.

message 169: by Lora (new)

Lora (lorabanora) Just jumping in here. My kids cyberschool at home and we have about a week left. I thought I remembered in the way back that the last week of school was a waste of time, all fluff and nonsense, but my kids have big projects coming due, classes to catch up on, and tests, tests, tests...and then finals! In 9th grade!
Not that I would want them wasting a week of school...but how am I supposed to READ...??? Thanks to cyberschool, I get to revisit fifth AND ninth grade simultaneously. There was nothing about that in the brochure, lol.

message 172: by Lora (new)

Lora (lorabanora) Sara, perhaps you can keep us updated from time to time on your publishing experience. It sounds interesting! Good luck!

message 173: by Haley (new)

Haley Sara, first of all, congratulations! That's exciting, and it sounds like a lot of fun. What exactly do you mean when you say you're in publishing, though? You're part of a company, or you started a company, or are you helping authors who want to self-publish?

message 174: by Sara (new)

Sara Nowlin-Edens (sara1955) | 139 comments Rebecca, another friend Lisa, and I started a publishing house. We publish books as well as offer editing services to authors that wish to self-publish. You can contact me via message for more info if you want :D

message 181: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Graf (rebeccagraf) What do you do when you start reading a book and the first chapter tells you that you have a winner in your hand?

message 182: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Varsha wrote: "I know the feeling. Scary shit. :D"

You are only allowed to swear if it is bleeped out *****. Due to the fact we have many different age groups and I don't want to scare anyone off due to cussing, I will scare them off in other ways. And I reserve to right to scare people away :D

message 183: by Varsha (new)

Varsha (varsha765) | 46 comments Ooops. I'm really sorry Christa. I use that word quite often, so it kinda becomes normal vocabulary. =\
Will remember it next time. :)

Haley Rebecca wrote: "What do you do when you start reading a book and the first chapter tells you that you have a winner in your hand?"

Is this a trick question? Keep reading? Often put off things like sleeping and interacting with other people. And then decide whether to share it with my friends or keep it to myself :D

message 186: by Sara (new)

Sara Nowlin-Edens (sara1955) | 139 comments Lol. If she kept it to herself I would shoot her dead hehe
