Adrian or Dimitri?

She equals Dimitri, but I seriously loooove Adrian.

Of course. Love is an incredibly powerful driving force. Unfortunately, it also seems to over shadow all other things like common sense and accountablility.
Love is a damn good reason for the person that has it. It's a wrecking ball for everyone else.

That is true. But love is one of the forces in this world that doesn't operate on logic. The reasoning for her choice between the two was valid. Yes, her choice caused many negative things to happen, but every choice we make has consequences, either good or bad.

But she never had to answer for any of the bad choices she made. That's what I don't like.

When does she ever make reasonable, thought out decisions?
If all of that stuff never happened, well, if you read Bloodlines, you s..."
No, the end's don't justify the means but that doesn't mean life is a breeze. It's filled with hardships. Everyone has their own personal hells, on their own levels, dealing with their own personal devils.
Rose may have not intentionally caused all those bad things that have happened but it was inevitable. And necessary. Plus it wasn't all Rose's fault.
Sydney was apart of this mess because of Abe. She was in his debt so she basically brought herself into this mess because she had to repay him. And don't you think Jill has the right to know that she is a royal? Would you have liked that being kept from you? Obviously, the execution of that information wasn't handled well but given the situation, what better way was there?
Adrian, well Adrian insisted on a relationship between him and Rose. He knew what he was getting into and Rose resisted at first but soon gave in. Still I don't think what she did was right. The whole cheating thing. Cheating is never justified but Adrian couldn't have been so shocked. I mean c'mon, they were spending a ton of time together. What did he expect? For them to sip tea and stare at the walls. But I don't believe Rose manipulated him. Not voluntarily. She really did try at their relationship but like @Blou4432 said, Love doesn't operate on logic. And I think Rose had to answer to more than most of the moroi/dhampir community could even fathom. She's been through a lot, don't you think?

This is a fictional character. I would imagine she had to answer to plenty. Everyone pays consequences, but no judgement is harsher on you than of yourself. I agree with Sharmin. This book was set to end this way. Adrian pushed Rose to date him. Rose never once backed down or told Adrian those feelings for Dimitri were gone. She was honest and he knew how she felt. Just as Rose made a decision out of love, so did Adrian. Not all decisions are equal or the same. He chose to love her, knowing her heart was at least partially elsewhere. Nobody is blameless in love, but nobody ever said it was easy either.

feelings for him were still strong, and I wondered if it was even remotely possible for us to be friends. Regardless, I couldnʹt lead him
on after sleeping with Dimitri. It hadnʹt been murder, no, but it had certainly been dishonorable.
Yet . . . I couldnʹt say any of that to Adrian now, I realized. I couldnʹt break up with him in a dream. That was almost as bad as a text
breakup. Besides, I had a feeling that . . . well, Iʹd probably need his help."
Sounds like she was fully aware of what she was doing. And have you read Bloodlines? Jill was a hell of alot happier before she found out that she was Lissa's sister and oh yeah, nobody was trying to kill her!
In SB, Rose used Adrians money to pay for a hotel in Vegas and then yelled at him when he showed up there about boundries...really? And since when was she honest? She lied to him about well...everything. She said she was spending time with Lissa when she was actually travelling to Alaska to break into a prison.
I see that trust is a big part of their relationship...well, on Adrian's side it is. He trusted her enough to let her go off with Dimitri after helping to break him out but oh, look, that trust was betrayed.
Love doesn't operate on logic? No shit. 'Don't kill my boyfriend Eddie! Lets run away and let him kill all the innocent people instead so that I can get him back later!' You're right, no logic there.
How is it that Rose can bust a guy out of maximum secrity (Which had was waaaay too easy btw), then kill him and not even get called out about it? How is she able to screw so many people over and never have to own up or try and redeem herself?
Sorry, I'm venting, it's been a bad day. :(
I really Liked Adrian and feel kinda bad for him at the end of LS but Dimitri was the best man for Rose

I'm a bit rusty on the last conversation she had with Adrian in Last Sacrifice, but the only part of her reasoning that I really agreed with was that Adrian needed someone who complemented him/balanced him. The other stuff... him being a victim, not fighting for things rang false to me. Adrian did fight for Rose in his own way. He also helped others along the way. Rose's assertion that he played the victim to me was baseless. She berates him for not fighting for what he wanted, which he did by pursuing her. On the other hand, the "fighting" that she did for those she loved most (Dmitri and Lissa) had huge consequences for others as mentioned by S.L.J. She actually created victims through her actions. I don't really judge her for trying to protect her loved ones. However, I really feel that Rose was not the right person to be giving Adrian or anyone any lectures.

I'm not saying she didn't make bad choices in how she got there. What I said was that her reasoning for choosing Dimitri over Adrian was a good one.
